Description
Zwlaszcza nadaje sie do tego weglan strontu, wzglednie wodorotlenek strontu, lecz odpowiednie sole barowe moga byc równiez uzyte, jednakowoz nadaja sie one wskutek trudnej rozpuszczalnosci siarczanu baru mniej do danego sposobu, niz zwiazki strontu. Ten ostatni wraca do proce¬ su. PLThe production of potassium carbonate by the conversion of potassium sulphate with alkaline earth carbonates is known. Taxam is known as the production of potassium hydroxide by the conversion of potassium sulphate with alkaline earth hydroxide. The above reactions were of almost no practical significance until then. The present invention uses them to convert potassium sililite salts directly to potassium or potassium hydroxide and sodium. Strontium carbonate or strontium hydroxide is particularly suitable for this, but the corresponding barium salts can also be used, but due to the difficult solubility of barium sulfate, they are less suitable. for a given process, than the strontium compounds. The method is as follows: The post-saline slug from the ammonium soda product is mixed with strontium sulfate, which converts the carbonate and ammonium bicarbonate contained in the liquor into ammonium sulfate and strontium carbonate. After the last one has been separated, the lug is mixed with the sylwinite, simultaneously introducing ammonium chloride. Glazed and potassium chloride are formed as a precipitate, which, after separation from the liquor, are treated with water, with the formation of potassium sulphate and sodium chloride solution. The latter goes back to the process. The lug, separated from the glaze, which contains mostly sodium chloride and a-O chloride, is cooled to separate some of the ammonium chloride, and the lug is suitable for the bolvay process. After separation from the sodium bicarbonate obtained by the 6olvay process, the remaining liquor is mixed with strontium sulfate, and so on. The strontium carbonate obtained by mixing the bolvay clay with the strontium sulfate is treated with potassium sulfate, and the formation of potassium carbonate and strontium sulfate is formed. Solid potassium carbonate is obtained by evaporating the solution. In the conversion of potassium sulfate with strontium carbonate, carbon dioxide is introduced to produce potassium bicarbonate, possibly with increased pressure to accelerate the reaction. Potassium sulfate is used in such by amounts so that 2 X 2 SO 4 molecules per 1 molecule of SrCO 3 are formed, since the reaction does not produce pure broc, but the 2rSO 4 double salt. K2bO ±. This double salt is obtained by treating water, especially hot, with f2SO4, since the solution obtained after saturation with potassium sulphate is again suitable for the production of potassium. Raw materials are sylvinite, carbon dioxide and ammonia, and as reaction products, there are obtained ammonium chloride, potassium and sodium. If desired, ammonia may not be used as a raw material, since it can be produced by regenerating it from ammonium chloride, just like in soda factories, so only potassium and soda will be the reaction products. to obtain directly potassium hydroxide and sodium as products. To this end, the strontium carbonate, obtained by mixing strontium sulphate with liquors from the Solvay process, is transferred to strontium oxide, which serves to convert potassium sulphate into potassium hydroxide and strontium sulphate. Highly concentrated potassium hydroxide solutions are changed, 20% and higher. PL
