The method involves eliminating non-flammable components from fiber and plastic waste, as well as those whose combustion may adversely affect the environment. The remaining waste is sorted by identifying its composition. Each fraction of the sorted waste is then shredded separately, and the shredded waste fractions are then mixed together to achieve a constant calorific value for the fuel. The mixture is then pelletized, and a binder in the form of molasses is added to the pelletized waste, at a rate of up to 10% by weight of the waste.

Description

Opis wynalazkuDescription of the invention

The subject of the invention is a method of producing fuel from fiber-plastic waste, intended primarily for industrial and household combustion.

There are methods of fuel production from various types of waste, e.g. wood waste such as sawdust, edgings, shavings, as well as from cereal straw, rapeseed, energy plants or coal dust. In the production process, this waste is used to obtain an excellent fuel with very good functional properties. Fuels are formed to make briquettes or pellets from waste.

During the production of fuel in the form of briquettes, the waste is initially crushed and then, after adding a suitable binder, e.g. molasses, it is mechanically formed into briquette cubes.

In the case of production of fuel in the form of pellets, after the initial crushing of the waste, it is subjected to a granulation (pelletization) process, e.g. with the use of ring matrix granulators, in which the raw material is pressed through the holes in the matrix in the form of cylinders with a specific diameter with the help of rotating rollers. heights. Under the influence of high pressure, the particles of the raw material prepared for the production of fuel (e.g. wood, straw, fine coal) stick together without the use of any binder and form granules, usually called pellets.

According to the invention, non-flammable components and those whose combustion may adversely affect the environment are eliminated from the fiber-plastic waste, and then the remaining waste is segregated by identifying the composition using a known method. Then, each fraction of the sorted waste is crushed separately, and then the shredded waste fractions are mixed together to obtain a constant calorific value of the fuel. The mixture prepared in this way is pelleted in a known manner, it being preferred that a molasses binder is added to the pelletized waste in an amount of up to 10% by weight relative to the weight of the waste.

Waste is segregated into separate fractions containing synthetic, natural and mixed fibers.

The maximum size of the crushed waste particles is 8-10 mm. The shredded waste is mixed together so that the calorific value of the obtained pellets is not less than 16 MJ / kg.

The produced pellets - both without and with the addition of binder - are characterized by good fuel properties, very low moisture content, moderate ash content, high constant calorific value and low sulfur content. The molasses used in the combustion process is carbonized, producing a coke structure which has binding properties in relation to other materials contained in the granules. Fiber-plastic pellets containing molasses burn on the surface and do not fall apart in the furnace. Some wastes may be characterized by a relatively high content of chlorine, which in the combustion process may increase the risk of excessive emission of chlorine compounds, especially HCl, and dioxins and furans. In the case of co-firing the fuel according to the invention with coal, the possible disadvantages of excessive emission of chlorine compounds, with a suitable fuel blend composition, can be eliminated or minimized.

For example, fuels from fiber-plastic waste are produced from vehicle seats. The materials used for the production of seats are crushed into particles with a maximum size of 8-10 mm, and then the analysis of the qualitative composition of the crushed waste is carried out based on single or coupled spectroscopic techniques. An example of such identification is analysis using the technique of infrared spectroscopy combined with the complementary technique of Raman spectroscopy. The spectra obtained in both techniques are compared with the spectra characteristic for individual components contained in the database. The analysis of the quantitative composition of the tested waste samples is carried out with the use of appropriate tables or own databases prepared for the reference fibers / materials. The entire production of fuel can be entirely used for waste needle-punched floor coverings, containing 70% PA fibers and 30% PP fibers or 50% PA fibers and 50% PP fibers, or 100% PP fibers, but they must not contain chlorine compounds .
