W literaturze opisano szereg reakcji cykloaddycji z udziałem sprzężonych diynów, na przykład cykloaddycję prowadzącą do pochodnych fluorantenu [„Luminescent substituted fluoranthenes-synthesis, structure, electrochemical and optical properties”, A. Slodek, A. Maroń, M. Pająk, M. Matussek, I. Grudzka-Flak, J. G. Małecki, A. Świtlicka, S. Krompiec, W. Danikiewicz, M. Grela, I. Gryca, M. Penkala, Chem. Eur. J., 2018, 24, 9622-9631]. The interest in new, polyaromatic hydrocarbons and new methods of their synthesis is huge. The present inventors have met these needs. Both the pi-expanded perylene derivative object of the present invention and the method of its synthesis are not known from the prior art. A number of cycloaddition reactions involving conjugated dynes have been described in the literature, for example cycloaddition leading to fluoranthene derivatives ["Luminescent substituted fluoranthenes-synthesis, structure, electrochemical and optical properties", A. Slodek, A. Maroń, M. Pająk, M. Matussek, I. Grudzka-Flak, JG Małecki, A. Świtlicka, S. Krompiec, W. Danikiewicz, M. Grela, I. Gryca, M. Penkala, Chem. Eur. J., 2018, 24, 9622-9631]. However, the reaction that is at the heart of the present invention and the product thereof are significantly different from them.
Thus, the aim of the present inventors was to develop a new method for modifying the perylene system by extending the pi-electron system using the tandem of the reaction between diarylbutadin and perylene. The first stage of this tandem was the cycloaddition of one of the dynes triple bonds to the perylene cavity with subsequent elimination of the hydrogen molecule, and the second stage was the cycloisomerization of the resulting cycloaddition product. Since the derivative containing the dibutylfluorene motif was selected as the diarylbutadine, a pi-expanded perylene derivative with such motifs resulted. This new perylene derivative will be an extremely attractive solution from the point of view of its applicability in organic electronics.
The development of the method and its product was preceded by thorough research on the reaction of perylene with diarylbutadins. 1,4-Bis (9,9-dibutylfluoren-2-yl) -1,3-butadine was selected because it is thermally very stable, as verified by thermogravimetric analysis (decomposes above 300 ° C). Then, it was necessary to find the conditions under which the reaction between perylene and dynine takes place, and to develop a method of isolating the reaction product. Looking at the structure of the reaction product, it can be assumed that in the first step cycloaddition [4 + 2] of one triple dynium bond to the perylene cavity (with hydrogen evolution) takes place. Then the resulting intermediate product, i.e. 1- (9,9-dibutylfluoren-2-yl) -2 - [(9,9-dibutylfluoren-2-yl) ethynyl] benzo [ghi] perylene, is cycloisomerized / cycloaromatized to the final derivative, that is 6 - ((9,9-dibutyl) fluorene-2-yl) -9,9-dibutylfluoreno [a] naphtho [1,2,3,4-gh] perylene. Importantly, the intermediate product (shown in Scheme 1) is not observed - cycloaromatization occurs much faster than cycloaddition.
Sama cykloaddycja dienofili acetylenowych, to jest samego acetylenu oraz jego pochodnych (acetylenodikarboksylanów, diaryloacetylenów) do wnęki perylenu jest znana - jest to niezwykle ważnaThe cycloaddition of acetylene dienophiles, i.e. acetylene itself and its derivatives (acetylenedicarboxylates, diarylacetylenes) into the perylene cavity, is known - it is extremely important

Istotę wynalazku stanowi pi-rozszerzona pochodna perylenu w postaci 6-((9,9-dibutylo)fluoren-2-ylo)-9,9-dibutylofluoreno[a]nafto[1,2,3,4-ghi]perylenu o wzorze 1.The essence of the invention is a pi-expanded perylene derivative in the form of 6 - ((9,9-dibutyl) fluoren-2-yl) -9,9-dibutylfluoreno [a] naphtho [1,2,3,4-ghi] perylene of the formula 1.
Finalny produkt otrzymuje się z wydajnością do 22% (czystość wyższa niż 97% - ustalona za pomocą NMR).The essence of the invention is also the method of obtaining a pi-expanded perylene derivative in the form of 6 - ((9,9-dibutyl) fluorene-2-yl) -9,9-dibutylfluoreno [a] naphtho [1,2,3,4-ghi] perylene of formula 1, which consists in the cycloaddition of 1,4- (9,9-dibutylfluoren-2-yl) buta-1,3-dynine into the perylene cavity with simultaneous elimination of hydrogen and subsequent cycloaromatization of the resulting intermediate cycloaddition stage. The process is characterized in that perylene and 1,4- (9,9-dibutylfluoren-2-yl) buta-1,3- are introduced into the overpressure-resistant reactor, preferably to at least 5 atmospheres, in any order. of dynes in molar proportions from 1: 1 to 20: 1, preferably from 5: 1 to 10: 1, then the reactor is closed and a vacuum is created in it, i.e. a pressure of no more than 0.1 Pa, which ensures practical removal oxygen and volatile substances, for example solvents, followed by reaction at a temperature of 250 to 300 ° C, preferably at 280 ° C, for a period of not less than 12 hours, preferably 72 hours. After this time, the reaction product is separated in two stages: the excess perylene is removed by vacuum sublimation in a known manner, and the product is separated from the residue by chromatography on a silica gel column. The practically pure product, i.e. 6 - ((9,9-dibutyl) fluorene-2-yl) -9,9-dibutylfluoreno [a] naphtho [1,2,3,4-ghi] perylene, is eluted with low boiling, saturated liquid hydrocarbon or a mixture of liquid saturated hydrocarbons, the hydrocarbon or mixture of hydrocarbons being mixed with methylene chloride in a ratio of 1: 1 to 50: 1, preferably 25: 1. During the chromatography, small amounts of perylene are eluted in the first fraction and the impurities remain on the column. The final product is obtained in a yield of up to 22% (purity greater than 97% - determined by NMR).
Preferably, a glass or quartz ampoule is used as the reactor.
Preferably, hexane is used as the low boiling saturated hydrocarbon liquid.

Testy potwierdziły, iż usunięcie tlenu i lotnych składników mieszaninAs already mentioned, both the reaction itself and its product are not known in the art. Therefore, this solution required a lot of experimentation and research. It was necessary to determine the temperature range of the reaction, its duration, molar proportions of the reactants, and the structure of the product - so far unknown, formed in an unknown reaction. It was equally important to check whether the actual removal of oxygen and volatile substances, for example solvents, would have a significant and positive effect on the reaction result. Tests confirmed that the removal of oxygen and volatile components of the mixtures

Reasumując, nieoczywistość rozwiązania wydaje się być niepodważalna dla ekspertów zajmujących się pi-ekspansją układów aromatycznych.PL 238 587 Β1 reaction with a vacuum below 0.1 Pa has a decisively significant and beneficial effect on the results of syntheses. From perylene to a 22-ring aromatic hydrocarbon in one pot”, B. Schuler, S. Collazos, L. Gross, G. Meyer, D. Perez, E. Guitian, D. Pena, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., 2014, 53, 90049006], Zastosowanie do tego typu syntezy związku będącego przedmiotem niniejszego wynalazku umożliwi otrzymanie rozpuszczalnego nanografenu o rozległej strukturze aromatycznej. The compound object of the present invention, i.e. 6 - ((9,9-dibutyl) fluoren-2-yl) -9,9-dibutylfluoreno [a] naphtho [1,2,3,4-ghi] perylene, can be used in organic electronics, for example as a component of active layers in light emitting diodes or solar cells. It is a pi-extended derivative of perylene, and perylene and its derivatives are of fundamental importance as photoactive materials, semiconductors, etc. It can also be treated as nanografen and a precursor to nanografen of larger sizes and more complex structures. It is possible that cycloaddition from the other side of this molecule to the other cavity - looking from the side of the base perylene system. Particularly attractive is the possibility of cycloadditioning the benzodinium precursor followed by cyclotrimerization. Such a method of synthesizing star-shape nanografenes is described for perylene itself ["From perylene to a 22-ring aromatic hydrocarbon in one pot", B. Schuler, S. Collazos, L. Gross, G. Meyer, D. Perez, E. Guitian, D. Pena, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., 2014, 53, 90049006], The use of the compound object of the present invention for this type of synthesis will enable the preparation of a soluble nanograph with an extensive aromatic structure.
