Description

W razie niestosowania takiej wairstwy z ogniotrwalego wylozetaia powsta¬ loby niebezpieczenstwo splukiwania calej masy weglowej wykladziny przeplywajaca surówka. W danym razie chcac uzywac masy weglowej o dobrych wlasciwosciach nalezalo by stosowac ja w postaici cegiel wypalonych. Zbiornik przelewowy posiada zewnatrz ksztalt kadzi odlewniczej, zaopatrzonej w dwa przelewy. W celu latwego prze¬ noszenia zbiornika przelewowego jest on zaopatrzony z obydwóch stron w czopy i do zahaczania go hakami dzwigu. Poza tym posiada on ucha k, pozwalajace na pmzedhyilanie zbiojnrfikia w jedna lulb w dru¬ ga strone w czasie zawieszenia go na dzwi¬ gu w celu calkowitego opróznienia. - 2 — PL PLAs is known, soda is increasingly used to desulfurize pig iron. However, the resulting sodium slag, containing a significant amount of potassium compounds, severely corrodes the refractory lining of the pouring ladle or mixer. To prevent the resulting sodium slag from entering the ladle, overflow tanks were used, into which pig iron was fed from the blast furnace. Due to the siphonic shape of the overflow tank, the sodium slag remained in the tank, and the pig iron flowed out of the tank free of slag. The pig iron flowing from the overflow tank is then fed to a tundish or directly to the mixer. By using such a tank, the sodium slag does not erode the refractory lining of the mixer, but the slag does erode the refractory lining of the overflow tank, which necessitates replacing the overflow tank lining within a very short time. The invention achieves an exceptionally long service life for the refractory lining of the overflow tank if the lining is made of a carbon mass used in the production of carbon bricks, preferably finely ground coke bound with tar as a binding agent. This mass does not require firing and can be used as a ramming mass. It is very advantageous when the surface of the carbon mass lining, especially in areas with air access, is covered with a thin layer of refractory mass in the form of bricks or ramming mass. Even if this coating is quickly destroyed by sodium slag, a protective layer so thick remains on the carbon mass lining that there is no fear of its destruction by the action of oxygen in the surrounding air. The carbon mass is largely covered by a layer of a kind of glaze. This coating also surrounds the rammed carbon mass lining in the form of a mold. The rammed coal mass is used in its plastic state after mixing finely ground coal with tar as a binding agent. The pig iron flowing through the overflow tank removes the binding agent from the coal mass through evaporation, while the refractory lining of the protective layer gradually melts. Failure to use such a layer from the refractory lining would risk washing the entire coal mass away from the lining with the flowing pig iron. In this case, if a coal mass with good properties is to be used, it would be necessary to use it in the form of burnt bricks. However, this is expensive and entails additional costs. To avoid this, the compacted coal lining should be fired in a similar manner as in the production of coal bricks. The refractory lining according to the invention also has the advantage that the overflow tank can be used immediately after its production, because the actual firing of the coal lining takes place during the operation of the tank, while at the same time the protective layer of the refractory lining gradually disappears. The drawing shows, by way of example, an overflow tank provided with a lining according to the invention, wherein Fig. 1 and 2 show two perpendicular longitudinal sections of the tank, and Fig. 3 shows a cross-section. The external shape of the overflow tank is that of a pouring ladle provided with two overflows. The tank has a funnel-shaped recess a, ending with an overflow e, and channels b and c, through which pig iron is fed to overflow d. Overflow d is constructed low enough to allow the pig iron to flow out easily. Desulfurization slag, fed along with the pig iron to recess a, floats as a lighter material on the surface of the pig iron and can continuously drain away through overflow e. The lining of the coal mass is designated by the letter /, and the coating of commonly used refractory materials is designated by the letter g. According to the drawing, the compacted coal mass of the overflow tank is protected inside by a layer of refractory bricks. This protection should only be used when fresh coal mass has been compacted in the tank. In this case, a layer of firebricks supports the coal mass until it burns into a hard mass under the action of the cast iron flowing through the tank. This layer serves no other purpose and is unnecessary if a used tank is used, in which the compacted coal mass has not been renewed. For easy transport, the overflow tank is equipped with pins on both sides and for hooking it with crane hooks. It also has lugs that allow the tank to be moved to one side or the other when suspended from a crane for complete emptying. - 2 — PL PL
