Abstract

The method of obtaining collagen, especially from freshwater and/or saltwater fish skins, consists in separating the fish skins from the carcasses, mechanically cleaning them of excess fat and disinfecting them. Fish skins prepared in this way are then flooded with an aqueous acid solution at a concentration of 0.05% to 10% by weight, and after the reaction time, the suspension filtration process is carried out. Glycolic acid and/or lactic acid are used at a concentration of 0.4% by weight to weight. The process is carried out at a temperature of 2ºC to 20ºC for at least 12 hours. The filtration process of the obtained collagen is carried out on filters with sieves made of natural fabrics.
