Abstract
Przedmiotem wynalazku jest układ asymetrycznego napinacza tłumiącego do napędów pasowych silnika. Pas jest połączony pomiędzy kołem napędowym na wale korbowym i dowolną ilością kół napędzanych. Każde koło napędzane jest połączone z elementem pomocniczym takim jak alternator, pompa sterująca mocą, sprężarka i tym podobne. Napinacz jest umieszczony w dowolnym miejscu przed pierwszym elementem o znacznej bezwładności skutecznej, w kierunku ruchu pasa. Napinacz dodatkowo składa się z mechanizmu tłumiącego do tłumienia drgań pasa powstałych podczas pracy silnika. Tarcie tłumiące napinacza jest nierówne albo asymetryczne, w zależności od kierunku ruchu ramienia napinacza. Podczas przyspieszania tarcie tłumiące napinacza w kierunku odciążenia jest znacznie mniejsze niż tarcie tłumiące w kierunku odwrotnym, czyli w kierunku obciążenia, jak to jest podczas hamowania. Mniejsze tarcie tłumiące podczas przyspieszania pozwala na to, aby ramię napinacza mogło się szybko dostosować do zwiększonej długości pasa spowodowanej przyspieszeniem. Większe tarcie tłumiące podczas hamowania powoduje, że ramię napinacza nie może przesunąć się za daleko w kierunku obciążenia, powodując w ten sposób poślizg i hałas. Tłumienie asymetryczne również znacznie zmniejsza całkowitą wibrację pasa podczas wszystkich faz pracy.
