Abstract

The subject of the application is a method of producing a urethane acrylate copolymer with enhanced adhesion. This method consists in bulk photopolymerization of urethane acrylate monomer and (meth)acrylate monomer in the presence of a radical photoinitiator and is characterized in that the monofunctional aliphatic urethane acrylate in the amount of 20 to 90% by weight is mixed with the monofunctional alkyl or alicyclic (meth)acrylate in the amount of 10 to 80% by weight and a radical photoinitiator in the amount of 1 to 10% by weight and subjected to the photopolymerization process. As the monofunctional aliphatic urethane acrylate, commercial aliphatic urethane acrylates of various viscosities and densities are used. As a monofunctional alkyl or alicyclic (meth)acrylate, aliphatic or alicyclic esters of (meth)acrylic acid with a carbon chain length of 2 to 12 carbon atoms are used, such as: methyl methacrylate, isobornyl acrylate, 4-tert-butylcyclohexyl acrylate, 2- phenoxyethyl. Acylphosphine oxide, α-hydroxyalkylphenone, benzyldimethylketal are used as radical photoinitiators. Lamps emitting radiation in the UV-A range with an intensity in the range of 15 - 30 mW/cm2 and a wavelength of 310 - 380 nm are used as the radiation source. The photopolymerization reaction is carried out in the presence of an inert gas for 1 to 10 minutes, at a temperature of 0 to 40°C, until the conversion of monomers in the range of 40 - 70% by weight is obtained.
