Abstract
The subject of the application is a biodegradable active packaging material based on starch, polyvinyl alcohol, which is a composition containing from 1.6 to 53 parts by weight of starch and from 22 to 78 parts by weight of PVA, and from 0.3 to 7.4 parts by weight of acid. gallic and from 18.5 to 26 parts by weight of glycerin as a plasticizer, all of which is exposed to ionizing, gamma or fast electron radiation. Alternative packaging material additionally contains nanocellulose. The application also covers a method for the production of biodegradable active packaging material, which consists in the homogeneous composition of starch: PVA: glycerin in the form of a gel, with a solids concentration of 1 - 3% by weight, obtained by mixing at a temperature of 60 - 90 ° C, wherein the polymer portion comprises from 1 to 65% by weight of starch, from 31 to 98% by weight of PVA, with a weight ratio of starch: PVA ranging from 35:65 to 2:98, and optionally nanocellulose in an amount of from 0.4 to 10% by weight, and glycerin is 25 to 35% by weight, based on the total weight of the polymers, gallic acid is added in an amount of 0.4 to 10% by weight, based on the total weight of the polymers, resulting in a homogeneous mixing of the components, preferably within a 1 to 10 minutes, at a temperature of not more than 50 ° C, the thus obtained composition is prepared into a packaging material, preferably in the form of a film, which, after production, is subjected to ionizing radiation, gamma 1 u fast electrons.
