Hamulec zwijadła, zwłaszcza szybkiego natarcia usytuowany jest na bębnie zwijadła i stanowi go hamulec (2) taśmowy. Hamulec (2) taśmowy posiada bęben (3) hamulca oraz taśmę (4), a taśma (4) jest usytuowana na bębnie (3) hamulca w taki sposób, że taśma (4) hamulca opasuje bęben (3) hamulca. Bęben (3) hamulca jest zamocowany do bębna zwijadła, a taśma (4) jest połączona z pierścieniem mocującym zwijadła. Ponadto taśma (4) jest połączona poprzez dźwignę (6) cięgła kompletnego z cięgłem kompletnym, a dźwignia (6) cięgła kompletnego zamocowana jest do wspornika (8), z kolei cięgło kompletne połączone jest z dźwignią (9) naciskową. Wspornik (8) zamocowany jest do pierścienia mocującego zwijadła. Hamulec zwijadła, zwłaszcza szybkiego natarcia znajduje zastosowanie w pojazdach gaśniczych.
