Abstract

The subject of the application is a method for producing rectangular-shaped nanocellulose particles from newsprint waste. The method is characterized in that the following steps are carried out in succession: waste, colored newsprint with an average cellulose content of 45 - 55% is subjected to shredding, shredded newsprint is subjected to the action of an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide with a concentration of 1 to 3%, at a ratio weight from 1:25 to 1:35 and stirred until swelling, the mixture is heated in a beaker at a temperature ranging from 50 to 70°C for 1 to 2 h, the mixture is filtered, the obtained pulp is treated with an aqueous solution hydrogen peroxide with a concentration of 1.5 to 3%, with a weight ratio of 1:35 to 1:45 and stirred until the pulp swells, the mixture is heated in a beaker at a temperature of 50 to 70°C for 1 to 2h, the mixture is filtered, the resulting pulp is treated with an aqueous solution of sulfuric acid (VI) with a concentration of 40 to 50%, with a ratio of 1 g:40 ml to 1 g:100 ml, the mixture is heated in a beaker with stirring, at a temperature of 50 to 60°C, for 1 to 2 hours, obtaining a material in the form of cellulose nanoparticles.
