Przenośnik taśmowy do systemów inspekcyjnych posiada przynajmniej dwie taśmy transportowe (t1, t2, t3), umieszczone zasadniczo obok siebie tworząc powierzchnię transportową. Przynajmniej jedna taśma transportowa zostaje obniżona (t1, t3), (t2) na odcinkach sekcji inspekcyjnych (i1), (i2), a przynajmniej jedna taśma transportowa pozostaje na poziomie transportowym (t2),(t1, t3) na odcinkach sekcji inspekcyjnych (i1), (i2). Różne taśmy transportowe mogą być obniżane lub pozostawać na poziomie transportowym w różnych sekcjach inspekcyjnych.
