Abstract

The application discloses co-surfactant-free oil-in-water microemulsions that consist of an emulsifier that comprises from 1 wt.% to 36 wt.% belonging to the group of ethoxylated coconut amines of the general formula 1, wherein R1 represents alkyl groups derived from coconut oil, and the alkyl chain length for POE (15) coconut amine is from C12-C18, the n + m value for POE (15) coconut amine is 15 and represents the ethoxylation number, and an oil phase that comprises from 0.1 wt.% to 10 wt.% and a water phase in the range of from 60% to 99 wt.%. The application also discloses a method for preparing co-surfactant-free oil-in-water microemulsions that consist of an emulsifier that comprises from 1 wt.% to 36 wt.%. belonging to the group of ethoxylated coconut amines of general formula 1, wherein R1 denotes alkyl groups derived from coconut oil, and the alkyl chain length for POE (15) coconut amine is from C12-C18, the value of n + m for POE (15) coconut amine is 15 and denotes the ethoxylation number, and an oil phase which constitutes from 0.1% by weight to 10% by weight and a water phase in the range from 60% to 99% by weight, consisting in that these components are combined and subjected to the action of ultrasound for 5 - 15 minutes at room temperature, thereby obtaining a transparent microemulsion.
