Abstract
The subject of the application is a method for obtaining a geopolymer, which consists in introducing water glass in an amount of 5% to 30% by weight and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution with a concentration of 10 - 14 M in an amount of 5% to 10% by weight into an intensive counter-rotating mixer. and homogenized for a time from 30 s to 180 s at a mixer speed from 1000 to 1500 rpm and a bowl rotational speed from 30 to 60 rpm, until a homogeneous activating liquid is obtained, then a silicon-aluminum raw material is added, preferably fly ash, most preferably from coal combustion, after which intensive mixing is carried out for a time from 30 s to 180 s at a mixer speed from 1000 to 2000 rpm and a bowl rotational speed from 30 to 60 rpm, until a homogeneous reaction mass is obtained and subjected to a granulation and mechanical compaction process for a time from 120 to 180 s minutes in a counter-rotating mixer, wherein the total ratio of the ash mass to the activating liquid mass is from 1.6 to 2.6, and the entire process is carried out for no more than 5 minutes at a temperature from 15°C to 25°C.
