PL 72 528 Y1 2 Opis wzoru Wzór uzytkowy ogólnie dotyczy zmniejszenia poziomu halasu i drgan w walach Cardana stoso- wanych w pojazdach. Gdy wal Cardana realizuje te funkcje wystepuje halas i drgania. W celu obnizenia poziomu halasu i drgan stosuje sie rózne tlumiki halasu usytuowane w rurze walu Cardana zawierajacej elementy tego walu. W stanie dotychczasowym stosuje sie takze w rurze walu Cardana tlumiki halasu wykonane z tek- tury. Jednoczesnie, gdy tekturowy tlumik halasu umieszcza sie w stalowej rurze walu Cardana moze dojsc do odksztalcen tektury i takie odksztalcenia powoduja straty materialu. Z drugiej strony, tekturowy tlumik halasu moze ulec uszkodzeniu wskutek oddzialywania warunków pogodowych w toku transportu i skladowania. Na kartonowe tlumiki halasu niekorzystny wplyw wywieraja czynniki zewnetrzne takie jak: wilgoc, deszcz i snieg. W czasie montazu tekturowy tlumik halasu moze doznac uszkodzen wskutek oddzialywania cie- pla i oleju w procesie spawania i kucia. W ten sposób bedzie mozna rozwiazac istniejace problemy napoty- kane w czasie skladowania i transportu korzystajac z nowego tlumika halasu (1). Aby mozna bylo osiagnac wszystkie korzysci, w rurze walu Cardana umieszcza sie tlumik halasu wykonany z polimerowej pianki lepko sprezystej. PL PL PLPL 72 528 Y1 2 Description of the design The utility model generally relates to reducing noise and vibration levels in cardan shafts used in vehicles. The utility model covers a noise damper placed in the cardan shaft tube and reduces the noise and vibration levels from the cardan shaft. In vehicles, the cardan shaft transfers the rotational motion and torque generated in the gearbox to the differential. When the cardan shaft performs these functions, noise and vibrations occur. To reduce noise and vibration levels, various noise dampers are used, located in the cardan shaft tube containing the shaft components. Currently, cardboard noise dampers are also used in the cardan shaft tube. The reduction in noise and vibration levels is insufficient, and certain problems are encountered during assembly and storage of cardboard noise dampers. The assembly process is time-consuming in mass production due to the hardness of the cardboard. Furthermore, when a cardboard noise suppressor is placed in a steel cardan shaft tube, the cardboard can deform, resulting in material loss. On the other hand, the cardboard noise suppressor can be damaged by weather conditions during transport and storage. External factors such as moisture, rain, and snow have an adverse effect on cardboard noise suppressors. During assembly, the cardboard noise suppressor can be damaged by the heat and oil from the welding and forging processes. There is a risk of the cardboard catching fire during welding if the welding process is not performed at an appropriate distance from the cardboard. Therefore, noise suppressors that are placed in the cardan shaft tube are being developed. Therefore, there is a need to develop new designs that address the disadvantages of current applications listed below: − assembly problems, − unfavorable noise and vibration characteristics (NVH), − effects of temperature, moisture, and weather conditions, − effects of manufacturing operations and deformation. The present utility model relates to a polymer noise muffler that meets the above-mentioned requirements and addresses existing disadvantages such as: − assembly problems, − unfavorable damping characteristics, − effects of temperature, moisture, and weather conditions, − effects of manufacturing operations and deformation. Advantages of the present utility model include providing a lightweight, flexible, and low-cost design that reduces noise and vibration levels induced by the cardan shaft. Other advantages of the design include creating a noise muffler that is resistant to heat, moisture, and weather conditions. In this way, it will be possible to solve existing problems encountered during storage and transport by using a new noise silencer (1). The noise silencer (1) covered by this utility model is flexible and prevents deformation during the assembly process. Furthermore, another advantage of the utility model is the elimination of problems encountered during production and assembly. The new silencer is not damaged by the heat of the welding process. To achieve all the benefits, a noise silencer made of polymeric viscoelastic foam is placed in the cardan shaft tube. The advantage of the present utility model is the reduction of noise and vibration levels from the cardan shaft. The structural and characteristic features, as well as all the advantages of this utility model, will become more understandable thanks to the drawings given in the detailed description, in which they are referred to. For this reason, an assessment should be made by considering these drawings and the detailed explanations. In order to understand the advantages of the present utility model and its additional elements, it should be assessed together with the drawings explained below. Figure 1 is a front sectional view of the said noise silencer that is the subject of the utility model; PL 72 528 Y1 3 Figure 2 is a side sectional view of the noise silencer according to the utility model; Figure 3 is a front two-dimensional view of a noise silencer with a U-shaped sleeve. Figure 4 is a side sectional view of a noise silencer with a cardan shaft. REFERENCE NUMBERS 1. Noise silencer 1.1 Clearance 2. Cardan shaft tube The utility model covers a noise silencer (1) having a closed sleeve and/or a C-section with clearance (1.1) placed in a cardan shaft tube (2), reducing the level of noise and vibrations originating from the cardan shaft. The new noise silencer (1) is mounted in such a way that it does not rotate in the shaft tube. In Figure 1, the noise silencer (1) has a section in the form of a closed sleeve, and in Figure 3, the noise silencer (1) has a C-section with clearance (1.1). The wall thickness of the noise silencer (1) was determined on the basis of acoustic tests. Figure 2 shows side sections of the new silencer (1). A two-dimensional view of the new silencer (1) with a U-shaped bushing with clearance (1.1) is illustrated in Figure 3. The silencer (1) has a clearance (1.1) when it has a U-shaped bushing. This clearance (1.1) ensures ease of assembly. Due to the high tolerances of the polymer material, diameter deviations can occur if the material is stored under inappropriate conditions (too high or too low a temperature). These deviations are a very important criterion for the silencer, which is not intended to rotate within the cardan shaft. These difficulties were overcome by means of the previously mentioned clearance (1.1) and/or the use of a U-shaped sleeve, the U-shaped sleeve being obtained by taking appropriate sections from a closed sleeve. The noise damper (1) should not move within the cardan shaft; it must be sufficiently tight. Between the cardan shaft sleeve (2) and the noise damper (1), there is no clearance seen with the C-shaped sleeves illustrated in Figure 3. Once the noise damper is placed in the cardan shaft tube (2), the clearance (1.1) provides advantages during assembly, such as eliminating the effects of diameter differences due to improper storage conditions. Compared to the current state of the art, the new noise damper (1) has the following advantages: ? it is lighter, ? It has better noise attenuation characteristics, is flexible, durable, and more practical for mass production, and is not adversely affected by storage and transport conditions. The results of acoustic tests for the cardan shaft conducted using the new silencer (1) and the silencers currently in use are given in the graphs below. The results for sound pressure level (dB) measured at various speeds (rpm) are given. As can be seen from the histogram showing sound pressure level (SPL) versus rpm, the new silencer (1) produces the lowest sound pressure level results at various speeds. The blue bar shows the noise measurement result for the new silencer (1), which is the subject of our utility model. Different measurement results were obtained by testing silencers made of different materials, including cardboard and industry-standard PUR-containing silencers, when inserted into the cardan shaft tube (2). Tests were conducted for all silencers under the same conditions, with the only variable being the type of material used. PL 72 528 Y1 4 The graph below shows the FRF results obtained from acoustic measurements. The FRF results are a graph showing sound pressure level (dB) versus frequency for silencer (1) and alternative silencers. Silencer (1) represents a significant improvement and guarantees customer satisfaction in terms of noise and vibration (NVH) characteristics for the cardan shaft in heavy trucks (ATA) and light commercial vehicles (HTA). Furthermore, the noise silencer (1) is intended for the production of: − it can be installed manually without any need to invest in a special station, − it guarantees ease of installation, providing benefits resulting from the duration of assembly activities and reduced labor costs. On the other hand, it is important for the automotive industry to reduce the current weight of vehicles. The noise silencer (1) we have developed is also advantageous from a weight perspective. Silencers made of cardboard and polyurethane foam with the same dimensions as the new noise silencer (1) are heavier. The said utility model provides a polymer noise silencer that reduces the weight of the drive shaft, thus contributing to a reduction in the weight of the given vehicle. The said noise silencer (1) which is the subject of this utility model: PL 72 528 Y1 − It has good properties such as: low density, flexibility, low thermal conductivity, high resistance to water vapor diffusion, and high impact strength; It is manufactured by extruding polyethylene foam with a closed-cell structure; Closed-cell polyethylene foam is obtained by creating higher damping properties at optimal density; Noise and vibrations are trapped in the closed pores of the closed-cell polyethylene foam, which reduces the vibration amplitude; Closed-cell polyethylene foam absorbs vibrations, preventing noise and sonic impacts, as can be seen in the graphs; Due to the closed-cell structure, the device demonstrates high resistance to vapor diffusion. It does not contain toxic gases, chemically inert and heavy metals such as lead, mercury, or gases such as CFCs and HCFCs. The device is environmentally friendly; it is characterized by high impact strength; it is not subject to permanent deformation; noise mufflers made of closed-cell polyethylene foam are non-flammable, durable, reliable, economical, and easy to use; it operates over a wide range of operating temperatures; it is characterized by high flexibility and lightness; it is easy to use and quick to install.
