Abstract

Description

Description of the Design The purpose of this application is to provide an anti-ballistic protection structure against impacts from projectiles, fragments, or sharp objects, which is suitable for anti-ballistic plates for personal use or on land, air, or sea vehicles.

The use of personal or vehicle-mounted protective equipment that is designed to withstand impacts from long-barreled firearms, short-barreled firearms, projectiles, fragments from explosive devices, and melee weapons is well known in the justice sector, for example, among police officers, military personnel, etc.

An example design of such protective equipment is formed from a laminar structure equipped with two adjacent blocks, each with multiple layers or sheets that provide protective properties. While this has been shown to satisfactorily fulfill the intended purpose of providing the wearer with improved freedom of movement and additionally providing a greater degree of flexibility compared to other prior art structures, it has been noted that in practice it is not suitable for marine environments. Consequently, in security operations that must be carried out in water areas, such as the sea or rivers, this may have a negative impact on protective properties and flexibility.

Furthermore, the applicant is not currently aware of any invention that has all the features described in this specification.

This utility model has been developed to provide an anti-ballistic protective structure that is configured as a novelty in its field of application and solves the previously mentioned disadvantages, as well as other additional advantages that will become apparent after reading the description below.

The object of this utility model is therefore to provide an anti-ballistic protective structure for personal use or for vehicle protective panels, comprising: - a first multi-layer block having at least an outer receiving layer, an inner layer made of ballistic material and an intermediate layer made of ceramic material; and - a second multi-layer block having a plurality of sheets made of ballistic material.

In particular, the utility model is characterized in that the first and second blocks are covered along their perimeter with a covering cover made of a plastic material with hydrophobic properties.

These features ensure the internal anti-ballistic structure is isolated from moisture, allowing the anti-ballistic structure to be submerged without adversely affecting its protective properties or flexibility. This structure is suitable for immersion in fresh or seawater. This design can be used to produce protective plates that provide optimal protection for vital areas, such as the vital organs of the thoracic and abdominal cavities.

In a preferred embodiment, the plastic material for the covering shell is polyurethane or a polyurethane-based material.

Preferably, the covering shell is welded along the perimeter to the first and second blocks using ultrasonic technology, thereby ensuring proper attachment to the first block and its impermeability.

According to another aspect of the utility model, each sheet of the second block is covered on its front and rear surfaces with a covering made of a flexible, slippery plastic material, so that during a bending action, each sheet can slide relative to the adjacent sheet, so that they provide a greater degree of flexibility.

The described anti-ballistic protective structure represents an innovative structure with design and composition features not previously known in applications, which, together with its usefulness, provide it with sufficient grounds to obtain the requested exclusivity privilege.

Other features and advantages of the anti-ballistic protective structure which is the subject of the present utility model will become apparent from the description of a preferred, but not exclusive, embodiment thereof illustrated by way of non-limiting example in the attached drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a schematic elevational view of an anti-ballistic plate equipped with the structure according to the utility model; and Figure 2 is a sectional view along line A-A of Figure 1, showing the arrangement of the anti-ballistic protective structure according to the presented utility model.

In light of the above-mentioned figures and in accordance with the adopted numbering, one can observe in them a preferred embodiment of the utility model, which contains the parts and elements indicated and described in detail below.

According to an embodiment of the utility model, the anti-ballistic plate (10) is provided for personal use, for example as part of a protective vest, and its interior consists of an anti-ballistic protective structure comprising a first multi-layer block, generally designated as (A), which consists of an outer receiving layer (1), an inner layer made of ballistic material (2), and an intermediate layer made of ceramic material (3). Furthermore, a second multi-layer block, generally designated as (B), is provided which has a plurality of sheets (4) made of ballistic material that overlap one another.

Furthermore, a first layer of adhesive material (6) with elastic properties is provided and is placed between the outer receiving layer (1) and the intermediate layer made of ceramic material (3), and a second layer of adhesive material (7) is placed between the intermediate layer made of ceramic material (3) and the inner layer made of ballistic material (2).

The surface of the structure is covered with a covering cover (5), which is made of a plastic material with hydrophobic properties.

The plastic material used in the cover shell (5) is polyurethane or a polyurethane-based material.

Said covering shell (5) is connected along its circumference to the first and second blocks (A), (B) by means of ultrasonic technology, so that the entire circumference is sealed by welding.

It should also be noted that each sheet of the second block is covered on its front and rear surfaces with a covering made of a flexible, slippery plastic material, so that during the bending action each sheet can slide relative to the adjacent sheet.

Details, shapes, dimensions and other supplementary elements used in the production of the anti-ballistic protective structure according to the utility model may be replaced with others that do not deviate from the scope defined by the following claims.

Anti-ballistic protective structure for personal use or for vehicle protective panels, comprising: - a first multi-layer block (A) having at least an outer receiving layer (1), an inner layer (2) made of a ballistic material and an intermediate layer (3) made of a ceramic material; and - a second multi-layer block (B) having a plurality of sheets (4) made of a ballistic material, characterized in that its surface is covered with a covering cover (5) which is made of a plastic material with hydrophobic properties. 2. Anti-ballistic protective structure according to claim 1, characterized in that the plastic material of the covering cover (5) is polyurethane or a polyurethane-based material. 3. Anti-ballistic protective structure according to any one of claims 1 to 2, characterized in that the covering cover (5) is welded along the circumference to the first and second blocks by means of an ultrasonic technique. 4. Anti-ballistic protective structure according to claim 1, characterized in that each sheet of the second block (B) is covered on its front and rear surfaces with a covering made of a flexible sliding plastic material, so that during a bending action each sheet (4) can slide relative to the adjacent sheet.
