Abstract

An apparatus for evacuating packages (1) with rotating evacuation chambers (10) is proposed. In order to prevent particles of filling material being sucked out when air is sucked out of the packages, the speed at which air is sucked out is to be kept within limits by control of the low pressure region. To achieve this, the control slots (27, 28, 29) of the low pressure region control device (20) are given adjustable widths. Each control slot is composed of a groove (21, 22, 23) of the same width and a strip (24, 25, 26) which is adjustable within the said groove (21, 22, 23). The strips can be adjusted from outside by means of cams (35) and back gearing (38, 39). <IMAGE>
