Abstract

The invention relates to reagents composed of a solution of a dye in a water-containing solvent for the simultaneous determination of the platelet and leucocyte counts by normal optical microscopy means with a content of   a) acetone,   b) formaldehyde and/or glutaraldehyde,   c) a dye,   d) 1 or more mineral salt(s) and   e) water in the amount necessary to make up to 100 parts by weight, which contain as dye [component c)] a thiazine dye, where   a) the acetone is present in an amount of 0.1 to 5 part(s) by weight,   b) the formaldehyde and/or glutaraldehyde is present in an amount of 0.05 to 2.0 part(s) by weight,   c) the thiazine dye is present in an amount of 0.001 to 0.1 part by weight and   d) the mineral salt(s) is (are) present in an amount of 0.1 to 2.0 part(s) by weight. <??>The invention furthermore relates to a process for the preparation of these reagents and to the use thereof for the simultaneous determination of the platelet and leucocyte counts by normal optical microscopy means. <IMAGE>
