DC60 (07/06/53) ยาเม็ดเมทริกซ์บรรจุสารประกอบเชิงซ้อนนิโคติน-เคลย์ ส่วนประกอบหลัก คือ สารประกอบเชิงซ้อนนิโคติน-เคลย์ พอลิเมอร์ และสารหลื่อลื่น โดยยาเม็ดที่ได้จะมีสารประกอบ เชิงซ้อนนิโคติน-เคลย์เป็นแหล่งกักเก็บยาและมีส่วนร่วมในการควบคุมการปลดปล่อยนิโคติน ส่วน พอลิเมอร์ทำหน้าที่ควบคุมการปลดปล่อยนิโคตินและยึดติดกับเยื่อเมือกภายในช่องปาก ซึ่งทำให้ ได้ผลิตภัณฑ์ยาเม็ดเมทริกซ์ที่สามารถควบคุมการปลดปล่อยนิโคตินและนำส่งนิโคตินผ่านเยื่อ เมือกกระพุ้งแก้มและเยื่อเมือกภายในช่องปากเข้าสู่กระแสเลือด รวมทั้งสามารถยึดติดกับเยื่อเมือก กระพุ้งแก้มและเยื่อเมือกภายในช่องปากได้ สิทธิบัตรยา
