Abstract
This invention describes a fermentation method for producing L-glutamic acid. It involves an improved fermentation process consisting of: 1. Cultivating L-glutamic acid from variant strains of Brevibacterium or Doreenbacterium bacteria, which thrive in a medium containing aspartic acid or asparagine as the sole carbon source and also as a nitrogen source. Furthermore, this method allows for L-glutamic acid production in a liquid medium, accumulating it in the culture solution. 2. Cultivating L-glutamic acid from variant strains of Brevibacterium or Doreenbacterium bacteria that are resistant to aspartic acid-like or asparagine-like substances. This method also... L-glutamic acid production can be achieved in a liquid medium by producing and accumulating L-glutamic acid in the culture solution. 3. The accumulated L-glutamic acid is collected from the culture solution by extracting the efficiently growing microbial group from the medium or culture solution. 4. Such a medium or culture solution will contain a common carbon source, a nitrogen source, inorganic ions, and various nutrients. Different mediums with different compositions, as well as different cultivation processes used to cultivate the same parent stock, will yield different levels of L-glutamic acid.
