Pirinç alaşımı esas itibarıyla bakır ve çinkodan meydana gelmektedir. Alaşım en az bir ilave alaşım bileşenine sahiptir. Kurşun içeriği en fazla ağırlıkça yüzde 0,1 i ağırlıkça yüzde 40,5 ila 46 arasındadır. Alaşım, hem bir alfa mikroyapının hem de bir beta mikroyapının fraksiyonlarına sahip bir katı çözelti içermektedir. Beta mikroyapısının ağırlıkça oranı en az %30 ve en fazla %70’#&dir.
