Abstract
本發明提供使從也包括THF以外的VOC的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物成形而成的成形體不易釋出VOC之技術。係使用包含以直接酯化法製造的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂與鹼化合物的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物,將聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物予以成形而成的成形體依德國汽車工業會VDA277規定的VOC測定法測得的VOC排放量為50μgC/g以下。
Description
本發明係關於聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物、及將該樹脂組成物成形而成的成形體。
聚酯樹脂由於有優良的機械特性、耐熱性、成形性,因此廣泛使用在汽車零件、薄膜、電氣電子零件等。其中,為一種聚酯樹脂的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂由於利用無機強化材所獲致之補強效果高、耐藥品性也優良,所以廣泛使用於作為製造汽車或電氣電子設備的連接器、中繼器、開關等的工業用成形體的原料。
但是,上述聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂在使用成形體時會觀察到由於成形時之樹脂分解等所產生的氣體釋出的現象。產生的氣體當中,又以即使為常溫仍容易揮發的低分子量有機化合物(揮發性有機化合物(VOC))的釋出成為問題。
近年來,汽車製造商針對從汽車的內裝零件釋出的VOC量制定了基準,各汽車製造商設定了各種測定方法、規定。德國汽車工業協會已定出所謂VDA277的檢測揮發性有機化合物的試驗方法。
具體而言,例如非專利文獻1的第26頁所示,依VDA277規定的VOC測定法所測得的VOC排放量須為50μgC/g
以下。
在揮發性有機化合物當中,有四氫呋喃(THF),專利文獻1中記載:當聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂的末端羥基量多的情形,成形時的THF產生量會增多,並揭示使用末端羥基濃度低的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂。並且,揭示:藉由於聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂中添加鹼金屬鹽,能使得聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂的末端羥基安定化。惟,亦如專利文獻1中所記載,「末端羥基濃度係從總末端數減去COOH末端數來求取」,所以,「末端羥基濃度低」也就是指「COOH末端多」,如此的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂的耐水解性不利。
專利文獻2中揭示:將聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂進行聚合時,藉由添加鈦觸媒與磷化合物及鹼金屬或鹼土類金屬,來防止產生THF。但是此方法會有由於使用之鹼性金屬化合物的種類及添加量造成聚合速度減慢等的問題。
又,專利文獻3中揭示:在將聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂進行聚合時,藉由分次添加有機鈦化合物或鹼金屬鹽,來抑制聚合速度的延遲且同時減少異物或末端羧基濃度的方法。但是,此方法係將添加有機鈦化合物或鹼金屬鹽的階段加以分割,所以管理變得煩雜。而且,此方法尚須要追加添加裝置,難以轉用現有的設備,所以須要進一步投資,於經濟上不利。

在含有聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物進行成形時若產生VOC,在使用將上述樹脂組成物予以成形而成的成形體時容易從成形體釋出VOC。
本發明係為了解決上述問題而生,其目的在於提供使得不易從將聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物予以成形而成的成形體釋出包括THF以外的VOC等的VOC的技術。
本案發明人等為了解決上述問題而努力探討,結果發現:若使用如在專利文獻1中使用的以酯交換法製造的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂,則從係副產物的醇而來的醛會成為在成形時發生的VOC量增大的原因,並且,若使用含有以直接酯化法製造的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂、及鹼化合物的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物,能夠抑制上述醛導致的問題,而且也能減少使用成形體時釋放的VOC量,乃完成了本發明。更具體而言,本發明係提供以下者。
(1)一種聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物,其係包含以直接酯化法製造之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂、與鹼化合物,將該聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物予以成形而成的成形體依前述德國汽車工業會VDA277規定的VOC測定法所測得的VOC排放量為50μgC/g以下。
(2)如(1)之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物,其中,在聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物中的該鹼化合物的添加量,相對於該聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂100質量份,為0.01質量份以上0.1質量份以下。
(3)如(1)或(2)之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物,其中,該鹼化合物為乙酸鉀。
(4)如(1)至(3)中任一項之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物,其中,該聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂的末端羧基量為40meq/kg以下。
(5)一種成形體,其係將如(1)至(4)中任一項之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物予以成形而成。
(6)如(5)之成形體,其中,該成形體係汽車內裝零件。
將本發明之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物予以成形而成的成形體,在使用時從成形體釋出的VOC量少。
以下針對本發明之實施形態說明。又,本發明不限定於以下的實施形態。
<聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物>
本發明之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物包含聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂及鹼化合物。
[聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂]
本發明使用的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂,係一般的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂,包含至少來自於對苯二甲酸的重複單元、及至少來自碳數4之伸烷基二醇(1,4-丁二醇)的重複單元。
本發明使用之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂,係以直接酯化法製造的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂。作為聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂之製造方法,已知有直接酯化法與酯交換法,本發明係以直接酯化法製造聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂,所以如下所述,能減少從成形體產生的VOC量。
直接酯化法,係使用對苯二甲酸與1,4-丁二醇作為主原料,將對苯二甲酸與1,4-丁二醇於酯化反應觸媒存在下反應的方法。另一方面,酯交換法係使用對苯二甲酸二烷酯與1,4-丁二醇作為主原料,將對苯二甲酸與1,4-丁二醇於酯交換反應觸媒的存在下反應的方法。
直接酯化法在酯化反應時會生成水,不過,酯交換法的情形則生成醇。例如,當使用對苯二甲酸二甲酯製造聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂時,會生成甲醇。甲醇會變化為甲醛,所以造成從成形體產生的VOC量增加。若以此方式以酯交換法製造聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂,會產生為副產物的醇。並
且,此醇會變化為醛而使得從成形體產生的VOC量增大。直接酯化法中,不會生成為副產物的醇,因此不會從成形體釋出從此副產物的醇而來的醛。
本發明中,聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂只要是以直接酯化法製造者即可,製造條件不特別限定。酯化反應觸媒例如可使用銻化合物、鍺化合物、鈦化合物、錫化合物、鹼土類金屬化合物、錳化合物、鋅化合物等。又,觸媒的使用量也不特別限定,適當設定即可。
又,反應溫度、反應壓力、反應時間等反應條件也不特別限定,可因應理想的分子量等適當設定即可。
依此方式製造的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂,具有來自於對苯二甲酸的重複單元、及來自於1,4-丁二醇的重複單元。又,本發明之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂不限定於由對苯二甲酸丁二酯重複單元構成的均聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂,也可為含有60莫耳%以上的(特別是75莫耳%以上95莫耳%以下)的對苯二甲酸丁二酯單元的共聚物。
作為對苯二甲酸以外的二羧酸成分(共聚物成分),例如:間苯二甲酸、鄰苯二甲酸、2,6-萘二羧酸、4,4-二羧基二苯醚等C8-14的芳香族二羧酸;琥珀酸、己二酸、壬二酸、癸二酸等C4-16的烷二羧酸;環己烷二羧酸等C5-10之環烷二羧酸。此等二羧酸成分可以單獨使用或組合使用2種以上。
作為1,4-丁二醇以外的二醇成分(共聚物成分),例如乙二醇、丙二醇、三亞甲基二醇、1,3-丁二醇、六亞甲基二醇、新戊二醇、1,3-辛二醇等C2-10之伸烷基二醇;二乙二醇、
三乙二醇、二丙二醇等聚氧基伸烷基二醇;環己烷二甲醇、氫化雙酚A等脂環族二醇;雙酚A、4,4’-二羥基聯苯等芳香族二醇;雙酚之環氧乙烷2莫耳加成體、雙酚A之環氧丙烷3莫耳加成體等雙酚A的C2-4的環氧烷加成體。此等二醇成分可以單獨使用也可組合使用2種以上。
本發明使用的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂的末端羧基量不特別限制,本發明即使使用末端羧基量少,亦即末端羥基量多的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂,仍能減少從成形體產生的VOC量。
於聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂的末端有羥基的情形,末端羥基及鍵結於末端羥基的伸丁基會生成四氫呋喃(THF)。TFH為一種VOC,所以若使用末端羥基量多的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂製作成形體,會於成形時產生THF,因而造成從成形體釋出的VOC量增加。然而,藉由以直接酯化法製造聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂且同時併用聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂與鹼化合物,則即使使用末端羥基量多的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂仍能抑制上述VOC釋放量。
又,末端羧基量少的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂,耐水解性優異。因此,使用本發明之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物製造的成形體,耐水解性優良且同時VOC的釋出量也少。
在此,末端羧基量少,係指40meq/kg以下。從更提高耐水解性的觀點,末端羧基量宜為25meq/kg以下更佳。依此方式,設定聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂之末端羧基量為
25meq/kg以下,而使成形體不易因為在濕熱環境下的水解而造成強度降低,也能利用本發明使從成形體產生的VOC量大幅減少。又,末端羧基量,可藉由將聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯的粉碎試樣於苯甲醇中於215℃溶解10分鐘後,以0.01N的氫氧化鈉水溶解液進行滴定並測定以求得。
本發明使用的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂的固有黏度,在不妨礙本發明目的之範圍內不特別限定。聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂之固有黏度(IV)宜為0.65dL/g以上1.4dL/g以下。當使用具有該範圍之固有黏度的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂的情形,獲得之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物的成形性特別優良。又,也可摻混具有不同的固有黏度的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂來調整固有黏度。例如,藉由摻混固有黏度1.0dL/g的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂與固有黏度0.7dL/g的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂,可製備固有黏度為0.9dL/g的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂。聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂的固有黏度(IV),可於鄰氯苯酚中於溫度35℃的條件測定。
本發明之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物中的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂的含量不特別限定,宜為10質量%以上、小於99.99質量%較理想。又,上述含量若為30質量%以上,則由於含有聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂所獲致之物性提升會於成形體中顯現,為特別理想。更理想的上述含量為50質量%以上、未達99.99質量%。
[鹼化合物]
本發明之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物含有鹼化合
物。藉由含有鹼化合物,能壓抑從將本發明之樹脂組成物予以成形而成的成形體釋放的VOC量。

丁酸鈣、草酸鈣、硬脂酸鈣、鄰苯二甲酸鈣、偏磷酸鈣、蘋果酸鈣、磷酸鈣、磷酸氫鈣、磷酸二氫鈣、亞硝酸鈣、苯甲酸鈣、酒石酸鈣、重草酸鈣、重鄰苯二甲酸鈣、重酒石酸鈣、重硫酸鈣、硝酸鈣、乙酸鈣、氫氧化鈣、碳酸鈣、乳酸鈣、硫酸鈣等。此等之鹼化合物中,宜為乙酸鉀、碳酸鈣,尤佳為乙酸鉀。
本發明之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物中所含的鹼化合物的含量,依理想的VOC排放量等設定即可,不特別限定,但相對於聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂100質量份宜為0.01質量份以上0.1質量份以下。從充分抑制來自於單體成分的VOC生成的理由,上述含量為0.01質量份以上較理想,而上述含量為0.1質量份以下能抑制鹼化合物分解聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂而引起的VOC產生,故較理想。更理想的上述含量為0.01質量份以上0.05質量份以下。又,上述理想範圍外,若聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂的種類不同(例如分子量、末端羧基量、含有的共聚合成分不同的情形),也有VOC排放量會落入理想範圍內的情況,此種的情況也在本發明的範圍內。
[其他成分]
本發明之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物中也可含有上述必要成分以外的其他成分。作為其他成分,例如填充劑(無機填充劑等)、核劑、顏料、抗氧化劑、安定劑、塑化劑、潤滑劑、脫模劑及阻燃劑等添加劑、其他樹脂等。
[聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物之製造方法]
本發明之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物之製造方法不特別限定。可利用一般作為樹脂組成物之調製法的公知的設備
與方法,來製備樹脂組成物。例如,混合必要成分並使用單軸或雙軸的擠製機或其他熔融混練裝置進行混練,製備為成形用丸粒。又,也可使用多數的擠製機或其他的熔融混練裝置。又,可從料斗同時投入全部成分,也可從側饋料口投入一部分的成分。
鹼化合物宜以溶於水的狀態投入到擠製機等熔融混練裝置較佳。原因為鹼化合物會更均勻地分散於樹脂組成物中。再者,當以固體形式添加鹼化合物的情形,有時鹼化合物會作用為核劑,但是當將鹼化合物以溶於水的狀態添加的情形,能夠抑制鹼化合物作用為核劑,所以對於韌性等的影響可能性小,從此觀點為較理想。此水溶液的鹼化合物的濃度宜為1mol/L以上100mol/L以下較理想。原因為:若鹼化合物的濃度低於1mol/L的情形,水分量增多,容易促進聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯的水解,而鹼化合物的濃度超過100mol/L的情形,鹼化合物不易均勻分散。
[成形體之製造方法]
可利用射出成形等以往公知的成形方法,將以上述方式製作的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物丸粒作為原料,來製造成形體。又,由於不必先製成樹脂組成物丸粒,也可以將各成分直接供給到擠製機等熔融混練裝置並製造成形體。
以上述方式獲得的成形體,利用德國汽車工業會VDA277規定的VOC測定法測得的VOC排放量為50μgC/g以下。因此,將本發明之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物予以成形而成的成形體,使用時釋出的VOC量減少。使用時釋出的
VOC,當成形體使用於作為汽車內裝零件等車內或室內使用的情形特別成為問題。若為本發明之成形體,在車內或室內均能理想地使用。
以下舉實施例更詳細說明本發明,但本發明不限定於此等實施例。
<材料>
以直接酯化法製造的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂:WINTECH POLYMER公司製、「DURANEX(註冊商標)」、IV=0.69dL/g、末端羧基量為23meq/kg
乙酸鉀:和光純藥工業(股)公司、乙酸鉀
碳酸鈣:TOYO FINE CHEMICAL(股)公司、WHITON P-30
<樹脂組成物之製造方法>
將在以直接酯化法製造的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂中以表1所示比例混合乙酸鉀或碳酸鈣而得者作為原料,將此原料投入雙軸擠製機(JSW製,TEX-30),進行熔融混練而製造聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂丸粒。又,冷卻時間以外的條件如下所述。
(熔融混練條件)
缸筒溫度:260℃
螺桿轉速:130rpm
擠出量:12kg/hr
<成形體的製造>
將實施例及比較例的樹脂丸粒對於射出成形機(JSW公司製,「J75EP」供給,以下列成形條件製造成形體
(100mm×40mm×2mm)。
(成形條件)
成形條件:缸筒溫度:250℃
射出壓力:60(MPa)
射出速度:1.0(m/min)
模具溫度:60(℃)
<VOC排放量的測定>
將實施例、比較例的成形體切成10~25mg而得的樣本約2g分別放入22ml的小玻璃瓶中,精秤樣本重量後,密封並以HS-GC於120℃進行5小時的加熱處理。然後,計算氣相層析儀檢測到的揮發有機成物成分的峰部積分面積,以丙酮為標準,作為重量換算值,求取成形體單位重量的揮發性有機化合物量(μgC/g)。結果如表1所示。
由表1可確認,若將以直接酯化法製造的聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂與鹼化合物組合,從成形體釋出的VOC量會變得非常低。
Claims (6)
- 一種聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物,包含以直接酯化法製造之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂與鹼化合物,將該聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物予以成形而成的成形體依德國汽車工業會VDA277規定的VOC測定法測得的VOC排放量為50μgC/g以下。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物,其中,聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物中的該鹼化合物的添加量,相對於該聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂100質量份為0.01質量份以上0.1質量份以下。
- 如申請專利範圍第1或2項之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物,其中,該鹼化合物為乙酸鉀。
- 如申請專利範圍第1或2項之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物,其中,該聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂的末端羧基量為40meq/kg以下。
- 一種成形體,將如申請專利範圍第1或2項之聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯樹脂組成物予以成形而成。
- 如申請專利範圍第5項之成形體,其中,該成形體為汽車內裝零件。
