Abstract

The invention proposes the use of a hydrofluoroalkanes of general formula: RF(CH2-CF2)n-CH=CF2, in which n is equal to 1 or 2 and RF represents a perfluoroalkyl radical for cleaning solid surfaces. The hydrofluoroalkane can be used instead of the previously used 1,1,2-trichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane (F113) or 1,1-dichloro-1-fluoroethane (F141b). Hydrofluoroalkanes are not liable to degrade the stratospheric ozone.
