Abstract
The invention relates to the ferrous metallurgy, in particular to methods for steel smelting in hearth units working with blowing the bath with oxygen and afterburning in the working space of carbon oxide (CO), emitting from the bath. A method for afterburning carbon oxide emitting from the bath of steelmaking unit includes blowing the bath by oxygen with simultaneous delivery of oxidizing gases for afterburning of carbon oxide. Oxidizing gases are supplied through mobile burners disposed on the arch of hearth steel-making unit at an intensity of 30...60 % of oxygen consumption for blowing when delivery of fuel is off, at that burners nozzle heads are disposed at the distance of 600...700 mm from the bath surface.
