Спосіб включає попереднє охолоджування еритроцитів в контейнері до температури кристалізації, подальше заморожування із швидкістю 30-100 °/хв до (-150) - (-170) °С і зберігання в рідкому азоті. Попереднє охолоджування здійснюють шляхом торкання дном контейнера поверхні рідкого азоту при кімнатній температурі.
