Definitions

  • This portion of the anchor has a vertically orientated concave recess which has adjustably afiixed thereto a component having its adjacent side commensurately shaped to the recess and the opposite side flat. This component is then adjusted so its flat side is vertical; and a clamp secures an upright of the parapet against the vertical flat side, thus assuring the upright is vertical.
  • the present invention relates to an arrangement in which the anchors are of a kind which completely avoid the said problem.
  • the arrangement of the invention is such that the aperture is substantially wider than the upright, considered in the direction of the edge of the balcony.
  • the side of the aperture adjacent the balcony edge is equipped with a vertically orientated, concave recess, in which there is located an intermediate component, whose side facing the recess has a corresponding contour but whose other side is fiat.
  • the component contains a vertical slot with outward-facing edges located opposite the head of a screw screwed into the base of the said recess.
  • FIGURE 1 illustrates an embodiment of an anchor in accordance with the invention, the view being a section taken on the line II of FIGURE 2; 7
  • FIGURE 2 illustrates the same anchor seen from above.
  • a baseplate 11 is provided at one side with a transverse aperture 12 of rectangular cross-section, and at the opposite side with projections 1, for example in the form of hoop-like round-section iron bars whose ends are welded to the baseplate 11, and designed to be cast in situ in the concrete platform of the balcony in such a way that the sides and base of the aperture 12 are substantially vertical.
  • a U-shaped clamp 4 is provided, having flanges 13 provided with through holes 14 by means of which the clamp 4 can be fixed to the baseplate 11 with the help of bolts 10 which screw into said baseplate 11 and have substantial clearance in said holes 14.
  • the distance between the flanges 15 of the clamp 4 is the same as the distance between the sides of the aperture 12, so that they, aperture 12 and clamp 4, delimit a vertical passage 2 of rectangular cross-section.
  • the base of the aperture 12 contains a vertically disposed concave recess 5 in which an intermediate component 6 is located, whose side facing said recess 5 has a contour corresponding with that of the recess, whereas its opposite side is flat.
  • the intermediate component 6 contains a vertical slot 7 with outward-facing edges. It is fixed in the recess 5 by means of a screw 9 with a countersunk head 8, which screw screws into the base of said recess 5; the head 8 of the screw 9 is arranged to bear against the front edges of the slot 7 and does not protrude from the fiat face of the intermediate component 6 even at the ends of the slot 7.
  • the anchor is used in the following way:
  • the projections 1 are cast in situ in a concrete balcony platform, so that the baseplate 11 is flush with the platform edge. In this connection, there is no need to ensure that the passage 2 is precisely vertical.
  • the screw 9 is loosened and the intermediate component 6 is shifted in a vertical direction until its flat side is vertical (this can be checked quite simply with a spirit level), whereupon the screw 9 is tightened up and the intermediate component 6 thus fixed in position.
  • the bolts 10 having been released, an upright 3 of rectangular cross-section is introduced into the passage 2.
  • the cross-section of the upright being greater in a direction from the baseplate 11 than the minimum spacing of the passage 2, and the direction at right angles thereto is substantially less than the width of passage 2.
  • the projections 1 may be of a quite different design, as also may the clamp 4 and the baseplate 11.
  • Balcony parapet anchor equipped with a rearward projection designed to be cast in situ in a concrete balcony platform, including a clamp enclosing a vertically disposed rectangular section opening for accommodating a rectangular section parapet upright, said clamp holds said upright in place wherein the outside of the anchor is equipped with a vertically orientated, concave recess, in which there is located an intermediate component whose side facing the recess has' a corresponding contour but whose other side is substantially flat, said component contains a vertical slot with-:outward-facing edges located opposite the head of a screw screwed into the base of the said recess, 'by means of said screw said intermediate component can be fixed in different positions so that its flat side is substantially vertical.
