During this operation, the filler material can be coated with a fil of hot melt adhesive which, because of the pressure and the heat from the filler material, wi adhere to the filler material in the designed manner. If the film of hot melt adhesive is prepare a few minutes before it is applied (just before the press stage), some hot melt adhesives will sti adhere to the filler material even after they have stiffened.

  • Other cellular plastics than PVC can be used as filler material, or as core material, e.g cellular plastic of PUR, PS, etc. Most cellular plastics are little affected by electromagneti radiation, and thus the advantages of the heating procedure are retained, i.e. unnecessary heatin of the base material is avoided. Note also that although polyurethane in the form of hot mel adhesive becomes heated very quickly, a cellular plastic of the same material becomes hardly heated at all by electromagnetic radiation during the same period of time.

Abstract

L'invention se rapporte à un procédé de réalisation de joints porteurs au moyen d'un matériau en plastique cellulaire comprimé (3) dont la forme est stable à température ambiante et qui, après introduction dans l'emplacement du joint (1), est amené à dilatation par réchauffement, de façon à remplir la totalité dudit emplacement. L'adhésion entre le matériau de remplissage et le matériau de base peut s'effectuer au moyen d'un adhésif fondu à chaud ou d'un adhésif fondu à chaud comprenant un agent de durcissement (4) qui, pendant la phase de dilatation du matériau de remplissage, fond à température élevée, ce qui constitue l'adhérence entre ledit matériau de remplissage et le matériau de base (5). Dans la mise en application dudit procédé, quand le matériau de remplissage se réchauffe, l'emplacement du joint se remplit, une pression s'exerce sur l'adhésif et l'adhérence du matériau de base s'effectue simultanément. D'après ledit procédé, les constituants du joint sont secs quand on les manipule. Le procédé peut s'appliquer à la constitution de joints porteurs en matériaux à âme dans des constructions en sandwich. Il peut également s'utiliser pour assembler des panneaux en béton ou des panneaux de revêtement mural ou de fenêtres etc... dans la construction.
