Definitions
- the present invention relates to a cleaning product for printing cylinders, to the use of this product and to a material for its implementation.
- the invention aims instead to implement a light and simple cleaning, low pollution, and which can be repeated very frequently. In this way, we minimize the plugs are formed in the cells or they are eliminated when they are still fresh and therefore not very resistant.
- the invention therefore relates to a cleaning product or formulation, which is suitable for the two types of ink normally used (water-based ink and solvent-based ink) and is characterized by an alcoholate-based composition, appropriately. from 10 to 95 parts by weight, obtained from a strong base and a primary alcohol, in at least stoichiometric quantity.
- the strong base is advantageously soda or potash
- the primary alcohol is a lower alcohol such as methanol, ethanol, propanol, isopropanol, 2- ethoxyethanol or alternatively 2- (2-ethoxyethoxy) ethanol.
- a selection criterion for primary alcohol is its reactivity with the strong base to give the corresponding alcoholate, hence the reason for the "at least stoichiometric quantity".
- Another criterion is its compatibility with the components of the ink and its solvent nature with regard to the latter, hence the choice also of an alcohol carrying a sufficiently active hydroxyl or alkoxyl group. This is the case for 2-ethoxyethanol and 2- (2-ethoxyethoxy) ethanol, which also have the advantage of being both non-harmful and non-flammable.
- a solvent in particular one of those known for their solvent power of inks, for example acetates (of butyl, ethyl glycol, etc.), diacetone alcohol, methyl isobutyl ketone, glycol ethers, water
- a lower polyol, of the glycol or glycerol type in a lower amount, preferably significantly less than the stoichiometric amount relative to the alcoholate, and this in order to modify the rheological behavior of the final product; a detergent which can be used as a thickening agent and / or which can facilitate rinsing, once the cleaning is completed;
- a neutral or alkaline salt soluble in water for example a chloride or a carbonate of sodium or potassium, which takes the place of charge intended to regulate the viscosity; - water, in sufficient quantity to adjust the viscosity there too, so that the mixture can be easily spread, that is to say so that the viscosity is as close as possible to that of an ink of printing.

- the invention also relates to the preparation of the product which it has been found, not surprisingly, that the order of the steps is not indifferent. It is indeed possible, according to the order of addition of the components, to obtain mixtures of identical compositions, but different in their appearance, their viscosity and above all their effectiveness.
- the base is first dissolved in water, then the primary alcohol is added, preceded by the detergent if necessary.
- the cleaning products obtained according to this variant have rather a heterogeneous character, without this in any way affecting their activity.
- the base is first dissolved in the primary alcohol, then if necessary the lower polyol and / or the detergent are added, then and only then the water is added before solidification of the mixture, and if necessary, it ends with the addition of the soluble salt.
- the cleaning products obtained according to this variant are homogeneous.
- the products obtained according to the second variant are, with a strictly equal composition, darker and more viscous and act more quickly and more effectively on an ink with water aged and dried for a long time.
- the presence of the polyol in the product helps prevent the slightly sticky cleaning product from drying out and crystallizing.
- the polyol also decreases the aggressiveness and the corrosiveness towards the skin, while the carbonate, soluble salt, serves as filler and thickener.
- the optimum viscosity of the cleaning product is between 200 and 1500 cP, which is of the same order of magnitude as the viscosity of the inks used in printing.
- the cleaning product according to the invention is used to scour and de-ink the printing cylinders, by depositing it uniformly on the cylinder to be cleaned, then leaving it to act for a period of time, depending on the case, between a quarter hour and two hours.
- the cleaning product is deposited in amounts of between 20 and 60 g / m 2 of cylinder surface.
- the cleaning product is advantageously used by using the doctor blade for wiping a doctor chamber which is applied to the cylinder in order to uniformly spread therein a "bead" of product previously deposited over the entire length of the cylinder, the distribution of the cleaning product in a homogeneous film over the entire surface of the cylinder being ensured by rotating it a few turns.
- a spreading profile integral with the scraper is advantageously used, especially if it is a so-called "negative” scraping, that is to say a scraping in which the cylinder, by its rotation, comes against the doctor blade, which is arranged substantially tangentially thereto.
- This profile is superfluous in a "positive” scraping operation, that is to say in the opposite relative direction.
- a cleaning product is prepared having the following composition by weight:
- the product thus obtained is brownish yellow, relatively viscous and has a weak odor of ethanol.
- a cleaning product having the following composition is prepared:
- the sodium hydroxide is dissolved beforehand in water, then the Superonic NP10 (a detergent from the family of alkylphenolethoxylates sold by ICI) is successively added and 2- (2-ethoxy) -ethanol.
- the mixture obtained is not very colored (light brownish yellow), fluid and with a tendency to heterogeneity.
- the action times are there also of the order of half an hour to an hour, or even two hours for difficult cases, on a water like on a solvent-based ink.
- a cleaning product is prepared having a composition strictly identical to that of the previous example, but by first reacting the sodium hydroxide and 2- (2-ethoxyethoxy) ethanol, which leads to the production of a paste. dark brown, to which the detergent and then the water are successively added. The mixture obtained is a more viscous product than that of the previous example, very dark brown.
- This product acts very quickly on a water-based ink as well as on a solvent-based ink which has dried for 4 months on the surface of an Anilox cylinder. It takes effect after only 1/4 hour, at the end of which the dried ink can be removed by a simple rinsing with water.

Abstract
Description
l'alcoolate, et ceci dans le but de modifier le comportement rhéologique du produit final ; un détergent pouvant servir d'agent épaississant et/ou pouvant faciliter le rinçage, une fois le nettoyage terminé ;
