Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif pour faire respecter les limitations de vitesse pour véhicules consistant en une unité électronique inviolable pouvant équiper les véhicules neufs ou existants et chargée de détecter, dans les limites de précision demandées par les autorités de police, si le véhicule dépasse les limitations de vitesse légales obligatoires. Ce dispositif utilise les informations de positionnement par satellite pour son fonctionnement. Lorsqu'il constate qu'une limitation de vitesse a été dépassée, le dispositif transmet aux autorités de police la valeur de la limitation de vitesse, la vitesse effective du véhicule, la date, le lieu et l'heure du dépassement de la limitation de vitesse, le nom du conducteur du véhicule, le numéro d'immatriculation, la marque et le modèle du véhicule. Les autorités de police reçoivent ces informations dans une base de données et utilisent la base de données pour infliger des sanctions au conducteur afin de faire respecter les limitations de vitesse.
