Abstract

Es wird eine oligodynamisch wirksame Vorrichtung mit einer kupfer- oder silberhaltigen Oberfläche (10) und einer darauf aufgebrachten, feuchtigkeitsdurchlässigen, insbesondere clusterförmigen, mikroporösen und/oder mikrorissigen, Edelmetallbeschichtung (12) beschrieben. Diese umfasst ein edleres Metall als die Oberfläche (10), insbesondere Gold, Palladium, Rhodium, Platin, Ruthenium oder eine entsprechende Legierung, und besitzt vorzugsweise eine Dicke im Nanometer- oder Mikrometerbereich. Sie ist so ausgebildet, dass die kupfer- oder silberhaltige Oberfläche (10) im Feuchtigkeitskontakt mit dem edleren Metall (12) steht und sich durch Lokalelementbildung/Kontaktkorrosion allmählich auflösen kann. Über Poren, Risse, Zwischenräume (14) oder dergleichen in der Edelmetallbeschichtung (12) ist damit stets eine kontinuierliche Nachlieferung von Kupfer- oder Silberionen in einer oligodynamisch wirksamen Konzentration an die Umgebung (16) gewährleistet. Wegen des geringen erforderlichen Konzentrationsniveaus besitzen selbst Kupfer- oder Silberschichten (10a) im Mikrometerbereich bereits eine hinreichende Depotwirkung für eine langfristige Erzeugung von Kupfer- oder Silberionen. Eine Vorrichtung der beschriebenen Art kann beispielsweise durch galvanisches Abscheiden einer entsprechenden Edelmetallbeschichtung (12) auf kompaktes Kupfer- oder Silber oder auf ein mit einer dünnen Kupfer- oder Silberschicht (10a) versehenes anderes Material hergestellt werden.
