Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren, mit dem der Schwefelgehalt eines mit Schwefel in Form von Schwefelverbindungen vergifteten Ruthenium oder Rutheniumverbindungen enthaltenden Katalysators durch eine gezielte Behandlung mit einem Halogenwasserstoff, insbesondere Chlorwasserstoff enthaltenden Gasstrom unter nicht oxidativen Bedingungen gegebenenfalls bei erhöhter Temperatur soweit reduziert werden kann, dass dessen Aktivität auf die Aktivität eines gleichartigen Ruthenium oder Rutheniumverbindungen enthaltenden Katalysators ansteigt, der nicht durch Schwefel in Form von Schwefelverbindungen deaktiviert ist.
