Abstract

Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Alkali- oder Erdalkalisalzes einer α,ß-ethylenisch ungesättigten Carbonsäure, wobei man a) ein Alken, Kohlendioxid und einen Carboxylierungskatalysator zu einem Alken/Kohlendioxid/Carboxylierungskatalysator-Addukt umsetzt, b) das Addukt unter Freisetzung des Carboxylierungskatalysators mit einer Hilfsbase zum Hilfsbase-Salz der α,ß-ethylenisch ungesättigten Carbonsäure zersetzt, c) das Hilfsbase-Salz der α,ß-ethylenisch ungesättigten Carbonsäure unter Freisetzung der Hilfsbase mit einer Alkali- oder Erdalkalimetallbase zum Alkali- oder Erdalkalisalz der α,ß-ethylenisch ungesättigten Carbonsäure umsetzt. Salze α,ß-ethylenisch ungesättigter Carbonsäuren, wie insbesondere Natriumacrylat, werden in großen Mengen z. B. zur Herstellung wasserabsorbierender Harze benötigt.
