製本処理の開始前に、前記本身の厚さが前記測定ユニットによって測定され、得られた測定値に基づき、前記一対のクランプ板の間隔、および前記処理ユニットの前記一対の部材の間隔が、前記第1の制御ユニットによって、前記本身の厚さに対応するように予め調節される無線綴じ製本装置において、
前記測定ユニットは、
前記本身が置かれる上面を有する基台と、
前記基台の上面に取り付けられた固定体と、を備え、前記固定体は、前記上面に垂直な基準面を有しており、
前記測定ユニットは、さらに、
前記基台に取り付けられ、前記基準面に対し垂直にのびるガイドレールと、
前記ガイドレールに取り付けられ、前記固定体に対し近接または離間する方向にスライド可能とされた可動体と、
前記可動体をスライド運動させる第2の駆動機構と、を備え、
前記可動体は、前記ガイドレールの軸方向に互いに間隔をあけて位置する2つの壁面を有し、前記2つの壁面の間には空間が形成されており、
前記測定ユニットは、さらに、
前記可動体の空間内に配置されるとともに、前記ガイドレールに取り付けられて、前記2つの壁面の間においてスライド可能とされた測定体を備え、前記測定体は、前記固定体の基準面に対向する計測面を有しており、
前記測定ユニットは、さらに、
前記可動体および前記測定体の間に配置され、前記測定体を前記2つの壁面のうちの前記固定体に近い方の壁面に常時押しつける弾性付勢手段と、
前記基台または前記固定体に設けられ、前記本身が前記固定体の基準面の前方に置かれた時を検出する第1のセンサーと、
前記可動体または前記測定体またはその両方に配置され、前記測定体が前記弾性付勢手段の弾性力に抗して前記固定体に近い方の壁面から所定の距離離れたときを検出する第2のセンサーと、
前記測定体の計測面が前記固定体の基準面に当接した位置をゼロ点として、前記計測面の前記基準面に対する移動距離を測定する移動距離測定手段と、
前記第2の駆動機構および前記移動距離測定手段を制御する第2の制御ユニットと、を備え、
前記第1のセンサーが検出信号を出力したとき、前記可動体は、前記固定体に向かって、前記測定体の計測面が本身に当接して該ブロックを前記基準面に押し付ける位置を通り越してスライドし、その後、前記第2のセンサーが検出信号を出力したとき、前記可動体は停止し、そのとき前記移動距離測定手段による測定がなされ、それによって、該本身の厚さが測定されることを特徴とする無線綴じ製本装置。 - 前記測定ユニットの前記弾性付勢手段はコイルバネからなっていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の無線綴じ製本装置。
- 前記第1のセンサーは光電センサーからなっており、前記第2のセンサーは近接センサーからなっていることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の無線綴じ製本装置。
- 前記基台は、前記上面を形成する上壁と、前記上壁の下側に形成された内部空間を有し、前記内部空間内に前記ガイドレールが取り付けられ、
前記可動体は、前記2つの壁面をそれぞれ形成する第1および第2の側壁と、前記第1および第2の側壁の上端同士を接続する接続壁とを有し、前記第1および第2の側壁には、それぞれ、前記ガイドレールの挿通のための開口が形成され、
前記測定体には、前記ガイドレールの挿通のための貫通穴が形成され、
前記可動体が前記基台の内部空間内に配置され、前記測定体が前記可動体の空間内に配置されるとともに、前記可動体および前記測定体がそれぞれ前記開口および貫通穴を通じて前記ガイドレールに嵌め込まれ、
前記ガイドレールにおける、前記可動体の前記固定体から遠い方の壁面と前記測定体との間には、前記コイルバネが圧縮状態で嵌め込まれ、
前記可動体の接続壁および前記基台の上壁には、互いに整合しかつ前記ガイドレールに平行にのびる第1および第2のガイド孔が形成され、
前記測定体は、前記第1および第2のガイド孔を通って前記基台の上面から上方に突出する拡張部を有し、前記拡張部に前記計測面が設けられることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の無線綴じ製本装置。 - 前記基台は、前記上面を形成する上壁と、前記上壁の下側に形成された内部空間を有し、前記内部空間内に前記ガイドレールが取り付けられ、
前記可動体は、前記2つの壁面をそれぞれ形成する第1および第2の側壁と、前記第1および第2の側壁の上端同士を接続する接続壁とを有し、前記第1および第2の側壁には、それぞれ、前記ガイドレールの挿通のための開口が形成され、
測定体には、前記ガイドレールの挿通のための第1の貫通穴が形成され、
前記可動体の空間内には、前記測定体の両側においてそれぞれ前記第1および第2の側壁間にのびる、前記ガイドレールに平行なロッドが取り付けられ、前記測定体には、前記ロッドの挿通のための第2の貫通孔が形成され、
前記可動体が前記基台の内部空間内に配置され、前記測定体が前記可動体の空間内に配置されるとともに、前記可動体および前記測定体がそれぞれ前記開口および前記第1の貫通穴を通じて前記ガイドレールに嵌め込まれ、かつ前記測定体が前記第2の貫通孔を通じて前記ロッドに嵌め込まれ、
前記ロッドにおける、前記固定体から遠い方の壁面と前記測定体との間には、前記コイルバネが圧縮状態で嵌め込まれ、
前記可動体の接続壁および前記基台の上壁には、互いに整合しかつ前記ガイドレールに平行にのびる第1および第2のガイド孔が形成され、
前記測定体は、前記第1および第2のガイド孔を通って前記基台の上面から上方に突出する拡張部を有し、前記拡張部に前記計測面が設けられることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の無線綴じ製本装置。 - 前記第2の駆動機構は、
前記基台の内部空間内に、前記ガイドレールの軸方向に間隔をあけて配置された一対の第1のプーリを備え、前記一対の第1のプーリはそれぞれ前記ガイドレールの軸に垂直な回転軸を有しており、
前記第2の駆動機構は、さらに、
前記一対の第1のプーリ間に張られ、その一部に前記可動体が連結された第1のタイミングベルトと、
前記基台の内部空間内に配置され、一方の前記第1のプーリの回転軸に連結されたモータと、を備えていることを特徴とする請求項4または請求項5に記載の無線綴じ製本装置。 - 前記移動距離測定手段は、
前記基台の内部空間内に、前記ガイドレールの軸方向に間隔をあけて配置された一対の第2のプーリを備え、前記一対の第2のプーリはそれぞれ前記ガイドレールの軸に垂直な回転軸を有しており、
前記移動距離測定手段は、さらに、
前記一対の第2のプーリの間に張られ、その一部に前記測定体が連結された第2のタイミングベルトと、
一方の前記第2のプーリの回転軸に連結され、前記第2のプーリの回転量を前記測定体の計測面の移動距離に換算し、前記移動距離を出力する手段と、を備えていることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の無線綴じ製本装置。 - 前記基台の上面における前記第2のガイド孔の両側には、それぞれ、前記第2のガイド孔に平行にのびる滑り促進板が取り付けられていることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の無線綴じ製本装置。
- 前記第1のセンサーから検出信号が所定の時間継続して出力されたときにのみ、前記可動体が前記固定体に近づく向きにスライドすることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の無線綴じ製本装置。
- 前記第2のセンサーから検出信号が出力されたとき、前記第1のセンサーから検出信号が出力されていれば、前記移動距離測定手段による測定がなされるが、前記第1のセンサーから検出信号が出力されていなければ、前記移動距離測定手段による測定はなされず、前記可動体は前記固定体から遠ざかる向きに元の位置までスライドすることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の無線綴じ製本装置。
- 前記移動距離測定手段による測定は、前記第2のセンサーから検出信号が出力されて前記可動体が停止した後、所定の時間が経過したときになされることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の無線綴じ製本装置。
- 先の本身の無線綴じ製本処理の実行中に次の本身の厚さが前記測定ユニットによって測定されたとき、前記第1の制御ユニットは、前記次の本身の厚さの測定値をメモリに記録し、前記一対のクランプ板に挟持された前記先の本身が前記搬送路上の予め決定された位置に達したとき、前記先の本身の位置よりも上流側にある前記処理ユニットの前記一対の部材の間隔を、前記メモリに記録した前記測定値に基づいて調節し、その後、前記予め決定された位置よりも下流側の前記処理ユニットの前記一対の部材の間隔を、前記先の本身が当該処理ユニットを通過したときに、前記メモリに記録した前記測定値に基づいて調節し、その後、前記先の本身の無線綴じ製本処理の完了後に、一対のクランプ板の間隔を、前記メモリに記録した前記測定値に基づいて調節することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の無線綴じ製本装置。
- 前記一連の処理ユニットは、少なくとも、ミリングユニットおよび糊付けユニットおよび表紙付けユニットからなり、前記ミリングユニットは、前記一対の部材として、前記本身の背の切削処理の間に、前記一対のクランプ板からはみ出す前記本身の背の両側を支持する一対のガイド板を有し、前記表紙付けユニットは、前記一対の部材として、前記本身の背に表紙を貼着する際に、前記表紙を前記本身の背の両側に押しつける一対のニップ板を有していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の無線綴じ製本装置。
