Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Herstellen eines Sicherheitselements (12) zur Absicherung von Wertgegenständen mit einer deckenden Farbschicht (14), die einen durch Einwirkung von Laserstrahlung eingebrachten, sowohl visuell (20) als auch maschinell (22) erfassbaren Kennzeichnungsbereich (18) in Form von Mustern, Zeichen oder einer Codierung, und einen Hintergrundbereich (16) aufweist, umfassend den Schritt des Aufbringens einer deckenden, mehrschichtige Pigmente (60) enthaltenden Farbschicht (14) auf ein Substrat, und den Schritt des Einbringens einer Kennzeichnung (18) in Form von Mustern, Zeichen oder einer Codierung in die Farbschicht (14) durch Einwirkung von Laserstrahlung, wobei die Beschaffenheit der mehrschichtigen Pigmente (60) und die Intensität der Laserstrahlung so gewählt werden, dass die Kennzeichnung (18) im sichtbaren Spektralbereich heller als der Hintergrundbereich (16) und dadurch visuell (20) erfassbar wird, und im infraroten Spektralbereich eine größere Absorption als der Hinter grundbereich (16) erhält und dadurch maschinell (22) erfassbar wird.
