Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un élément de sécurité (12) servant à protéger des objets de valeur au moyen d'une couche de revêtement de couleur (14) qui comporte une zone de marquage (18) apposée par l'action d'un rayonnement laser et pouvant être détectée à la fois par le regard (20) et par une machine (22) sous la forme de motifs, de signes ou d'un codage, et une zone de fond (16). Ledit procédé selon l'invention comprend les étapes qui consistent à appliquer sur un substrat une couche de revêtement de couleur (14) contenant des pigments multicouches (60), et à apposer un marquage (18) sous la forme de motifs, de signes ou d'un codage dans la couche de couleur (14) par l'action d'un rayonnement laser, la qualité des pigments multicouches (60) et l'intensité du rayonnement laser étant sélectionnées de telle manière que le marquage (18) est plus clair que la zone de fond (16) dans le domaine spectral du visible et peut de ce fait être détecté par le regard (20), et présente dans le domaine spectral de l'infrarouge une absorption supérieure à celle de la couche de fond (16) et peut de ce fait être détecté par une machine (22).
