Procedimiento de decoración de los laterales de tarjetas de plástico Objeto de la invención
Es objeto de la presente invención un novedoso procedimiento para decorar los laterales de las tarjetas de plástico mediante la estampación de película en caliente, así mismo, es objeto de la presente invención el grabado para acoplar al cabezal calefactor de la máquina de estampado de película en caliente para llevar a cabo el anterior procedimiento y las tarjetas de plástico decoradas en sus laterales obtenidas mediante el procedimiento de decoración y utilizando el grabado diseñado para llevar a cabo dicho procedimiento.
Antecedentes de la invención
Son bien conocidas en el estado de la técnica las tarjetas de plástico que son utilizadas para una multitud de fines, entre los cuales los más conocidos son el pago a débito o a crédito, tarjetas de crédito, o la identificación dentro de edificios o en todo tipo de eventos. Dichas tarjetas de plástico suelen estar decoradas en sus caras anterior y posterior con todo tipo de motivos, usualmente publicitarios, y en muchas ocasiones llevan incorporada en dicha decoración parte o toda la información necesaria para que cumplan su objetivo, como por ejemplo el nombre de la persona que la porta.
Una necesidad estética de las tarjetas de plástico decoradas es que sus laterales tengan el mismo color que sus caras anterior y posterior u otro tipo de decoración que se desee incorporar.
Para conseguir que los laterales tengan el color deseado se utilizan tarjetas fabricadas en plásticos del color deseado, esta solución conlleva para los fabricantes el mantener stocks de cada uno de los colores que se ofrezcan y, por lo tanto, el coste del mantenimiento de dichos stocks es muy elevado, y además, y como es muy costoso tener tarjetas de todos los colores almacenadas, es muy posible que se pierdan oportunidades de venta por no tener en un determinado momento el color que desea un cliente. La invención objeto de la presente descripción ofrece una técnica de decoración, inédita hasta la fecha, de los laterales de las tarjetas de plástico mediante el bien conocido procedimiento de decoración mediante estampación de película en caliente que, por las características de dicho procedimiento permite abaratar los costes de producción y de mantenimiento del stock, pudiendo reducirse el stock de las tarjetas a un solo color, usualmente el blanco.
El procedimiento de estampación de película en caliente consiste en la aplicación de una determinada presión mediante un grabado, durante un tiempo y una temperatura determinada, a una película situada sobre la superficie a decorar. La superficie de contacto del grabado con la película puede ser completamente lisa o tener grabado un relieve con el motivo a decorar. Tras el estampado en caliente se puede limpiar los restos de película mediante el proceso de soplado, cepillado o transferencia para eliminar los restos de película que hayan podido quedar. La estampación de película en caliente se lleva a cabo, entre otras, en máquinas de estampado verticales y en máquinas de estampado continuo o roll-on.
Las máquinas verticales de estampado en caliente son prensas verticales cuyo órgano móvil es un brazo que tiene un movimiento alternativo de subida y bajada, en el extremo de dicho brazo tienen un cabezal calefactor al cual se acopla un grabado calefactable, también tienen un soporte o cuna que posiciona y sujeta las piezas a ser estampadas, así como, diversos dispositivos de alimentación, transporte y colocación de la película o foil y de control de la presión, tiempo de estampado y temperatura a la cual se ha de calentar el grabado.
En las máquinas de estampado continuo o roll-on el cabezal calefactor es un cilindro que gira sobre su propio eje y al que se le acopla en su superficie cilindrica exterior el grabado calefactable, este tipo de máquina se utiliza para realizar el estampado de grandes series. La película de estampación por calor, conocida como Hot Stamping Foil, se compone de varias capas que se depositan sobre un soporte de polyester. Estas capas son por orden: Polyester, capa de desprendimiento, capa protectora, capa o capas de decoración o color/aluminizado y capa de adhesivo por calor y presión. Su aplicación es por calor y presión sobre la superficie a decorar, el relieve con el que el grabado este conformado y que es el que entra en contacto físico con la película, es el que se transfiere a la superficie.
Descripción de la invención
El procedimiento de decoración de los laterales de tarjetas de plástico objeto de la presente invención comprende las siguientes etapas: a. Colocación de una pluralidad, preferentemente 25 unidades, de tarjetas de plástico en una primera cuna de apoyo de tal manera que el primer lateral de menor longitud de dichas tarjetas de plástico quede enfrentado al grabado. b. Estampado de película en caliente de los primeros laterales de menor longitud de las tarjetas de plástico.
c. Soplado mediante aire del estampado realizado en los primeros laterales de menor longitud.
d. Colocación de una pluralidad de tarjetas de plástico en una primera cuna de apoyo de tal manera que el segundo lateral de menor longitud de dichas tarjetas de plástico quede enfrentado al grabado.
e. Estampado de película en caliente de los segundos laterales de menor longitud de las tarjetas de plástico.
f. Soplado mediante aire del estampado realizado en los segundos laterales de mayor longitud.
g. Colocación de una pluralidad de tarjetas de plástico en una segunda cuna de apoyo de tal manera que el primer lateral de mayor longitud de dichas tarjetas de plástico quede enfrentado al grabado.
h. Estampado de película en caliente de los primeros laterales de mayor longitud de las tarjetas de plástico.
i. Soplado mediante aire del estampado realizado en los primeros laterales de mayor longitud.
j. Colocación de una pluralidad de tarjetas de plástico en una segunda cuna de apoyo de tal manera que el segundo lateral de mayor longitud de dichas tarjetas de plástico quede enfrentado al grabado.
k. Estampado en caliente de los segundo laterales de mayor longitud de las tarjetas de plástico. I. Soplado mediante aire del estampado realizado en los segundos laterales de mayor longitud para eliminación de las rebabas que queden del procedimiento de estampación en caliente. Para llevar a cabo el procedimiento anteriormente descrito se utiliza una máquina de estampación de película en caliente del tipo vertical o continuo descritas anteriormente a las que se acopla en el cabezal calefactor un grabado calefactable, dicho grabado está fabricado en silicona y en cuya cara exterior enfrentada a la película se dispone un rebaje tal que la forma de una sección transversal de dicho grabado es el negativo de la forma y dimensiones de un lateral de dicha tarjeta incluyendo el redondeo de las esquinas formados por dicho lateral con los laterales adyacentes de la tarjeta, dicha máquina de estampación vertical de película en caliente también comprende una o más cunas aptas para posicionar y sujetar las tarjetas de plástico de manera tal que por los laterales a decorar queden enfrentados a la cara inferior del grabado, las dichas cunas pueden ser dispositivos de sujeción que permitan utilizar la misma cuna para el estampado en caliente de los cuatro laterales de las tarjetas.
Preferentemente la sección transversal del grabado tiene la forma y dimensiones del primer y del segundo lateral de mayor longitud de las tarjetas de plástico y en otra realización preferente tiene la forma y dimensiones del primer y del segundo lateral de menor longitud de las dichas tarjetas de plástico.
Preferentemente el grabado es de silicona de 80° Shore A. La tarjeta estampada con película en caliente según el procedimiento descrito en los párrafos anteriores y utilizando la máquina de estampación en caliente tiene sus laterales estampados con película en caliente es también objeto de la presente invención.

Realización preferente de la invención
En una realización preferente de la invención las tarjetas de plástico cumplen la norma ISO 781 6 y sus medidas son:
• Largo: 85,6 +1 /-0, 5 mm
· Ancho: 53,98 +1-0,2 mm
• Espesor nominal: 0,762 mm y se trabaja preferentemente con grupos de 25 tarjetas. El procedimiento utiliza máquinas de estampado de película en caliente bien verticales o bien continuas o roll-on con el grabado y la cuna descritas anteriormente y la cadena de producción puede ser:
• Cuatro máquinas de estampado en caliente seguidas cada una de ellas por su correspondiente estación de soplado, en esta cadena de producción cada máquina de estampado en caliente realiza el estampado de un lateral.
• Dos máquinas de estampado en caliente seguidas por sus correspondientes estaciones de soplado, donde cada una de las máquinas de estampado en caliente realiza el estampado de dos laterales.
· Una máquina de estampado en caliente seguida por una estación de soplado.

Claims

REIVINDICACIONES
Procedimiento de decoración de laterales de tarjetas de plástico del tipo de estampado de película en caliente caracterizado por que comprende las siguientes etapas:
a. Colocación de una pluralidad de tarjetas de plástico en la cuna de apoyo de tal manera que el primer lateral de menor longitud de dichas tarjetas de plástico quede enfrentado al grabado.
b. Estampado de película en caliente de los primeros laterales de menor longitud de las tarjetas de plástico.
c. Soplado mediante aire del estampado realizado en los primeros laterales de menor longitud.
d. Estampado de película en caliente de los segundos laterales de menor longitud de las tarjetas de plástico.
e. Colocación de una pluralidad de tarjetas de plástico en la cuna de apoyo de tal manera que el segundo lateral de menor longitud de dichas tarjetas de plástico quede enfrentado al grabado.
f. Soplado mediante aire del estampado realizado en los segundos laterales de menor longitud.
g. Colocación de una pluralidad de tarjetas de plástico en la cuna de apoyo de tal manera que el primer lateral de mayor longitud de dichas tarjetas de plástico quede enfrentado al grabado.
h. Estampado de película en caliente de los primeros laterales de mayor longitud de las tarjetas de plástico.
i. Soplado mediante aire del estampado realizado en los primeros laterales de mayor longitud.

Grabado según reivindicación 3 caracterizado porque la sección transversal del grabado tiene la forma y dimensiones del primer y del segundo laterales de mayor longitud de las tarjetas de plástico.
Grabado según reivindicación 3 caracterizado porque la sección transversal del grabado calefactable tiene la forma y dimensiones del primer y del segundo laterales de menor longitud de las dichas tarjetas de plástico.
Grabado según reivindicación 4 y 5 caracterizada porque el grabado esta fabricado en silicona de 80° Shore A.
Grabado según cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 3 - 6 caracterizado porque se dispone adecuadamente en el grabado el negativo de las formas tridimensionales a decorar en los laterales de las tarjetas de plástico.
Grabado según reivindicaciones 3 - 7 caracterizado porque es apto para acoplarse al cabezal calefactor de una máquina de estampado de película en caliente vertical.
Grabado según reivindicaciones 3 - 7 caracterizado porque es apto para acoplarse al cabezal calefactor de una máquina de estampado de película en caliente continua o roll-on.
10. Tarjeta de plástico caracterizada porque sus laterales están estampados con película en caliente según el procedimiento de las reivindicaciones 1 y 2 y utilizando el grabado de las reivindicaciones 3 - 9.
