Abstract

Un dispositif visiocasque (HMD) est configuré avec un boîtier de capteur qui permet un suivi de tête afin de déterminer qu'un utilisateur du dispositif se trouve à proximité d'objets holographiques dans des environnements de réalité mélangée et de réalité virtuelle. Un volume d'estompage comportant des enveloppes volumétriques disposées de manière concentrique est placé autour de l'utilisateur et comprend une enveloppe proche qui la plus proche de l'utilisateur et une enveloppe éloignée qui est la plus éloignée de l'utilisateur. Lorsqu'un objet holographique est au-delà de l'enveloppe éloignée, le dispositif HMD rend l'objet avec une opacité complète (c'est-à-dire, sans transparence). Lorsque l'utilisateur se déplace vers un objet holographique et que ce dernier coupe l'enveloppe éloignée, l'opacité de l'objet commence à s'estomper tandis que la transparence augmente au point de révéler l'arrière-plan derrière l'objet. La transparence de l'objet holographique augmente lorsque l'objet devient plus proche de l'enveloppe proche et l'objet devient entièrement transparent lorsque l'enveloppe proche l'atteint de sorte que l'arrière-plan devienne entièrement visible.
