本発明に係る積層体は、樹脂層[I]と、樹脂層[II]とを含む。該樹脂層[I]は、プロピレン系重合体(A):60.0質量%以上85.0質量%以下と、エチレン系重合体(B):15.0質量%以上40.0質量%以下とからなる樹脂組成物[I]を含む。なお、樹脂組成物[I]において、プロピレン系重合体(A)とエチレン系重合体(B)との合計は100.0質量%である。また、該樹脂層[II]は、プロピレン系重合体(A):80.0質量%以上99.9質量%以下と、エチレン系重合体(B):0.0質量%以上15.0質量%未満と、造核剤(C):0.1質量%以上20.0質量%以下とからなる樹脂組成物[II]を含む。なお、樹脂組成物[II]において、プロピレン系重合体(A)と、エチレン系重合体(B)と、造核剤(C)との合計は100.0質量%である。
本発明に係るプロピレン系重合体(A)は、プロピレン単位を50質量%以上含み、前記要件(i)、(ii)及び(iv)を満たすものであれば特に制限は無い。プロピレン系重合体(A)としては、例えばプロピレン単独重合体であるホモポリプロピレン(ホモPP)、プロピレン・α-オレフィンランダム共重合体(ランダムPP)等が挙げられる。なお、プロピレン系重合体(A)は、2種類以上のプロピレン系重合体を含む組成物であってもよい。
プロピレン系重合体(A)の、JIS K6921に準拠し、温度230℃、荷重21.18Nで測定したメルトフローレート(MFR)は、0.1~12.0g/10分であり、0.6~7.0g/10分が好ましく、1.0~5.0g/10分がより好ましく、1.5~3.0g/10分がさらに好ましい。該MFRが0.1~12.0g/10分の範囲外の場合、成形性が低下し成形することが出来ない。また、本発明に係る積層体から得られた容器の耐寒衝撃強度が低下する。
プロピレン系重合体(A)の、赤外分光法により求めたプロピレン以外のα-オレフィン含有量は、0~5質量%であり、0~4質量%が好ましく、0~3質量%がより好ましい。該プロピレン以外のα-オレフィン含有量が5質量%を超える場合、剛性が低下する。該プロピレン以外のα-オレフィンとしては、炭素数2及び4~10のα-オレフィンが好ましく、炭素数2又は4のα-オレフィンがより好ましく、エチレンがさらに好ましい。プロピレン以外のα-オレフィン含有量が前記範囲内のプロピレン系重合体(A)としては、例えばホモPP、プロピレン以外のα-オレフィン含有量が5質量%以下のランダムPP、ホモPPとプロピレン以外のα-オレフィン含有量が5質量%以下のランダムPPとを含む組成物等が挙げられる。なお、該プロピレン以外のα-オレフィン含有量は0質量%であってもよい。すなわち、プロピレン系重合体(A)はプロピレン以外のα-オレフィン単位を含まなくてもよい。また、該プロピレン以外のα-オレフィン含有量は後述する方法により算出される値である。なお、プロピレン以外のα-オレフィンの一例として、エチレン含有量を求める場合、赤外分光法における波長は718cm-1および733cm-1である。また、エチレン以外のα-オレフィンの測定に用いられる波長は、一般に知られている。
本発明に係るエチレン系重合体(B)は、エチレン単位を50質量%以上含み、前記要件(iii)及び(iv)を満たすものであれば特に制限は無い。エチレン系重合体(B)としては、エチレン単独重合体、エチレン・α-オレフィン共重合体等が挙げられる。なお、エチレン系重合体(B)は、2種類以上のエチレン系重合体を含む組成物であってもよい。
エチレン系重合体(B)の、JIS K6922に準拠して測定した密度は、890~920kg/m3であり、895~918kg/m3が好ましく、900~910kg/m3がより好ましい。該密度が890kg/m3未満の場合、剛性が低下する。また、該密度が920kg/m3を超える場合、透明性が低下し、耐寒衝撃強度も低下する。
前記プロピレン系重合体(A)のJIS K6921に準拠し温度230℃、荷重21.18Nで測定したMFR(A)と、前記エチレン系重合体(B)のJIS K6921に準拠し温度230℃、荷重21.18Nで測定したMFR(B)との比率(MFR(A)/MFR(B))は、0.2~5.0であり、0.3~4.0が好ましく、0.4~3.0がより好ましく、0.6~1.5がさらに好ましい。MFR(A)/MFR(B)が0.2~5.0の範囲外の場合、積層体および容器の透明性が低下する。また、MFR(A)/MFR(B)が0.2未満の場合、容器の耐寒衝撃強度が低下する。
本発明では、樹脂層[II]を形成する樹脂組成物[II]は、造核剤(C)を含む。なお、樹脂層[I]も造核剤を含んでもよい。
本発明に係る樹脂層[I]は、樹脂組成物[I]を含む。樹脂層[I]は、樹脂組成物[I]からなってもよい。該樹脂組成物[I]は、プロピレン系重合体(A):60.0質量%以上85.0質量%以下と、エチレン系重合体(B):15.0質量%以上40.0質量%以下と、からなる。ここで、プロピレン系重合体(A)+エチレン系重合体(B)=100.0質量%である。樹脂組成物[I]は、プロピレン系重合体(A):65.0質量%以上83.0質量%以下と、エチレン系重合体(B):17.0質量%以上35.0質量%以下とからなることが好ましく、プロピレン系重合体(A):70.0質量%以上80.0質量%以下と、エチレン系重合体(B):20.0質量%以上30.0質量%以下とからなることがより好ましい。
本発明に係る樹脂層[II]は、樹脂組成物[II]を含む。樹脂層[II]は、樹脂組成物[II]からなってもよい。該樹脂組成物[II]は、プロピレン系重合体(A):80.0質量%以上99.9質量%以下と、エチレン系重合体(B):0.0質量%以上15.0質量%未満と、造核剤(C):0.1質量%以上20.0質量%以下と、からなる。ここで、プロピレン系重合体(A)+エチレン系重合体(B)+造核剤(C)=100.0質量%である。また、樹脂組成物[II]は、エチレン系重合体(B)を含まなくてもよい。樹脂組成物[II]は、プロピレン系重合体(A):85.0質量%以上99.9質量%以下と、エチレン系重合体(B):0.0質量%以上13.0質量%以下と、造核剤(C):0.1質量%以上15.0質量%以下と、からなることが好ましく、プロピレン系重合体(A):89.9質量%以上99.9質量%以下と、エチレン系重合体(B):0.0質量%以上10.0質量%以下と、造核剤(C):0.1質量%以上10.0質量%以下と、からなることがより好ましい。
本発明に係る積層体は、樹脂層[I]と、樹脂層[II]と、を含む。積層体は、少なくとも樹脂層[I]と、樹脂層[II]とを含んでいればよく、樹脂層[I]および樹脂層[II]以外の層を含んでもよい。しかしながら、積層体は、耐寒衝撃強度および透明性の観点から、1層の樹脂層[I]と、1層の樹脂層[II]とが積層された2層構造を有することが好ましい。また、積層体は、耐寒衝撃強度および透明性の観点から、1層の樹脂層[II]と、1層の樹脂層[I]と、1層の樹脂層[II]とがこの順で積層された3層構造を有することが好ましい。また、樹脂層[II]が積層体の表面を形成することが透明性の観点から好ましい。
本発明に係る積層体を製造する際には、例えばプロピレン系重合体(A)、エチレン系重合体(B)を上記範囲内の配合比率となるように所定量計量した後、直接シート成形機のホッパー等に投入してもよい。また、前記計量後の原料を予め、リボンブレンダー、バンバリミキサー、ヘンシェルミキサー、スーパーミキサー等を用いて混合し、更に、単軸又は二軸押出機、ロールなどの配合機や混練機を用いて溶融混練した後に、シート状に成形してもよい。
本発明に係る容器は、本発明に係る積層体からなる。本発明に係る容器は、例えば低温の環境で扱われる飲料などの食品包装容器として好適に用いることができる。本発明に係る容器は、本発明に係る積層体を、例えば真空成形、圧空成形、真空圧空成形等の任意の成形法により成形することで得ることができる。しかしながら、積層体を真空圧空成形して容器を得ることが透明性の観点から好ましい。また、樹脂層[II]が容器の表面を形成することが透明性の観点から好ましい。容器を形成する樹脂層[II]の厚みは、1.5μm以上であることが好ましく、10μm以上100μm以下であることがより好ましい。樹脂層[II]の厚みが1.5μm以上であることにより、容器の耐寒衝撃強度が向上する。
本発明に係る積層体原料用シートは、プロピレン系重合体(A):60.0質量%以上85.0質量%以下と、エチレン系重合体(B):15.0質量%以上40.0質量%以下と(ただし、(A)+(B)=100.0質量%)、を含む。また、該積層体原料用シートは、下記要件(i)~(v)を満たす。本発明に係る積層体原料用シートは、本発明に係る積層体における樹脂層[I]として好適に用いることができる。
プロピレン系重合体およびエチレン系重合体のメルトフローレート(MFR)は、JIS K6921に従い温度230℃、荷重21.18Nの条件下で測定した。
エチレン系重合体の密度は、JIS K6922に従い、測定サンプルを100℃で30分間加熱した後、23℃で1時間保持し、密度勾配管法によって測定した。
プロピレン系重合体中のエチレン含有量は、以下の条件にて厚さ300μmのプロピレン系重合体のシートを作製し、FT/IR5300(商品名、日本分光製)を用い、718cm-1および733cm-1の吸光度から次式により計算した。

(1)透明性
カップ型容器の胴部(平均厚み300~400μm)について、JIS K7136に準拠してヘイズを測定した。なお、全ヘイズは内部ヘイズと外部ヘイズとの合計である。
カップ型容器にエチレングリコールを150g入れ、上部をPPシートでヒートシールし、低温恒温槽(-30℃)内に一昼夜保存した。その後、該低温恒温槽からカップ型容器を取り出して、カップ型容器が割れない落下最大高さを評価した。
カップ型容器の胴部(平均厚み300~400μm)の引張弾性率を、JIS K7113-2に準拠して測定した。なお、該測定は真空圧空成形の押出方向(MD)と、MDの垂直方向(TD)に対して行った。
プロピレン系重合体(A)として、表1に示される(A-1):50.0質量%および(A-2):25.0質量%と、エチレン系重合体(B)として、表1に示される(B-2):20.0質量%および(B-5):5.0質量%とをドライブレンドして、樹脂組成物[I]を得た。また、プロピレン系重合体(A)として、表1に示される(A-2):99.0質量%と、造核剤(C)として、ミラードR8000(商品名、大日精化製、ソルビトール系造核剤):1.0質量%とをドライブレンドして、樹脂組成物[II]を得た。樹脂層[I]の原料として該樹脂組成物[I]、樹脂層[II]の原料として該樹脂組成物[II]を用い、多層シート成形機((株)伸晃製)を用いて、樹脂層[II](表層)と、樹脂層[I](中間層)と、樹脂層[II](表層)とがこの順で積層されたシート状の積層体を得た。具体的には、各層の厚みの比率(樹脂層[II]/樹脂層[I]/樹脂層[II])が1/10/1となるように、原料を温度250℃で溶融押出し、第一冷却ロールと、第二冷却ロール(設定温度50℃)との間に挟んで冷却し、0.7m/分の速度で、厚み1.6mmのシート状の積層体を得た。
樹脂組成物[I]および[II]の原料並びに組成を表2~表6のように変更した以外は、実施例1と同様にシート状の積層体を作製した。また、実施例1と同様に該積層体を成形して容器を作製し、評価した。結果を表2~表6に示す。なお、造核剤としては全てミラードR8000(商品名、大日精化工業株式会社製)を用いた。また、実施例12および比較例10、11では、樹脂層[I]からなる単層のシートを作製した。また、比較例7では加熱時に垂れが生じ、容器に成形できなかった。また、比較例8では積層体が均一に伸びず、容器に成形できなかった。

要件(iii):前記エチレン系重合体(B)の、JIS K6922に準拠して測定した密度が890~920kg/m3である。
要件(iv):前記プロピレン系重合体(A)のJIS K6921に準拠し温度230℃、荷重21.18Nで測定したMFR(A)と、前記エチレン系重合体(B)のJIS K6921に準拠し温度230℃、荷重21.18Nで測定したMFR(B)との比率(MFR(A)/MFR(B))が、0.2~5.0である。 - 前記樹脂組成物[I]と[II]の両方ともにおいて、前記エチレン系重合体(B)が、密度891~945kg/m3のエチレン系重合体(B1):50.0~100.0質量%と、密度890kg/m3以下のエチレン系重合体(B2):0.0~50.0質量%と(ただし、(B1)+(B2)=100.0質量%)、からなる組成物である請求項1に記載の積層体。
- 前記積層体が、前記樹脂層[I]と、前記樹脂層[II]とからなり、
前記樹脂層[I]と前記樹脂層[II]との厚みの比率(樹脂層[II]/樹脂層[I])が、1/198~1/3である請求項1または2に記載の積層体。 - 前記樹脂層[II]と、前記樹脂層[I]と、前記樹脂層[II]とがこの順で積層されており、
各層の厚みの比率(樹脂層[II]/樹脂層[I]/樹脂層[II])が、1/198/1~1/3/1である請求項1または2に記載の積層体。 - 前記積層体の厚みが3mm以下である請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の積層体。
- 前記要件(ii)におけるプロピレン以外のα-オレフィン含有量が、エチレン含有量である請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載の積層体。
- 請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載の積層体からなる容器。
- 前記樹脂層[II]の厚みが1.5μm以上である請求項7に記載の容器。
- 前記積層体を真空圧空成形して得られる請求項7または8に記載の容器。
- 請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載の積層体を、真空成形、圧空成形又は真空圧空成形して容器を得る容器の製造方法。
- プロピレン系重合体(A):60.0質量%以上85.0質量%以下と、エチレン系重合体(B):15.0質量%以上40.0質量%以下と(ただし、(A)+(B)=100.0質量%)、を含み、下記要件(i)~(v)を満たす積層体原料用シート。
要件(i):前記プロピレン系重合体(A)の、JIS K6921に準拠し、温度230℃、荷重21.18Nで測定したメルトフローレート(MFR)が、0.1~12.0g/10分である。
要件(ii):前記プロピレン系重合体(A)の、赤外分光法により求めたプロピレン以外のα-オレフィン含有量が0~5質量%である。
要件(iii):前記エチレン系重合体(B)の、JIS K6922に準拠して測定した密度が890~920kg/m3である。
要件(iv):前記プロピレン系重合体(A)のJIS K6921に準拠し温度230℃、荷重21.18Nで測定したMFR(A)と、前記エチレン系重合体(B)のJIS K6921に準拠し温度230℃、荷重21.18Nで測定したMFR(B)との比率(MFR(A)/MFR(B))が、0.2~5.0である。
要件(v):前記積層体原料用シートの厚みが2.97mm以下である。
