Definitions
- the present invention relates to a front panel sealing structure that seals a gap between a front panel opening and a front panel of a vehicle.
- Patent Document 1 describes a seal structure in which a gap at the boundary between a front panel and a cowl upper is sealed with a weather strip.
- the weather strip is mounted on the cowl upper side, and when the front panel is closed, the end of the front panel comes into contact with and closely contacts the weather strip.
- the boundary between the front panel and the cowl upper (front body) tends to retain water compared to the front of the front panel (front of the panel), and the edge of the front panel located at the boundary is compared to the front of the panel. Easy to rust.
- the present invention provides a seal structure that can improve the rust prevention property of an edge portion without subjecting the edge portion of the front panel to special processing for rust prevention.
- the seal structure of the front panel of the present invention includes a front panel and an elastic seal material.
- the front panel integrally has a panel main body arranged along the vehicle width direction of the vehicle and a panel edge that extends backward from a predetermined region on the periphery of the panel main body and is attached to the front body of the vehicle.
- the elastic sealing material integrally has a mounting portion and a plate-like protrusion.
- the mounting portion has a U-shaped cross-section in which the panel insertion groove opens forward between the seal outer wall portion and the seal inner wall portion, and is elastically deformed by inserting the panel edge portion into the panel insertion groove from the front, so that the panel edge portion Retained.
- the protruding portion protrudes from the outer wall portion of the seal and extends along the predetermined region in close contact with the edge surface of the opening in a state where the mounting portion is held on the edge of the panel.
- the seal outer wall portion and the seal inner wall portion are in close contact with the outer surface and the inner surface of the panel edge portion from one end to the other end of the predetermined region in a state where the seal is mounted, and the protruding portion protrudes from the seal outer wall portion side.
- the elastic sealing material is inclined obliquely forward toward the side, and the protruding portion is in close contact with the edge surface of the opening to seal between the opening and the front panel.
- the plate thickness of the protruding portion is gradually tapered toward the protruding tip side so that the seal outer wall side is thick and the protruding tip side is thin.
- the panel outer edge and the inner seal wall are in close contact with the outer surface and the inner surface of the panel edge from one end to the other end of the predetermined region on the peripheral edge of the panel body.
- the end of the part is securely covered by the mounting part. Therefore, the rust prevention property of a panel edge part can be improved by the mounting part of an elastic sealing material, without giving a special process to a panel edge part.
- the projecting portion is inclined obliquely forward from the seal outer wall portion side toward the projecting tip side, even when water is sprayed at a high pressure in the gap between the panel edge and the opening at the time of car washing, The protrusion can reliably prevent water from entering.
- the plate thickness of the protruding portion gradually tapers toward the protruding tip side so that the seal outer wall side is thick and the protruding tip side is thin, so the protruding plate thickness is from the seal outer wall side to the protruding tip side.
- the elastic force (repulsive force) of the protrusion is set to a strength that does not impair the workability of mounting the front panel and that does not easily deteriorate due to deterioration even after long-term use. Easy to do. Therefore, the antirust property by the elastic sealing material can be maintained for a long time.
- the present invention it is possible to improve the rust prevention property of the edge portion without subjecting the edge portion of the front panel to special processing for rust prevention.

And a plate-like projecting portion 12 projecting from the body.
- left and right ends of the upper seal material 10 are attached to the left and right side edges 8 of the front panel 4 (panel body 6), and the space between the side edges 8 and the opening 3 is substantially the entire area in the vertical direction.
- a side sealing material (not shown) that is hermetically extended extends integrally.
- the mounting portion 11 has a U-shaped cross section integrally including a seal outer wall portion 13, a seal inner wall portion 14, and a bottom wall portion 15.

It adheres closely to the edge surface 3a.
- the projecting portion 12 is inclined obliquely forward (upward obliquely forward) from the seal outer wall portion 13 side, which is the base end side, toward the projecting distal end 12a side. Further, the plate thickness of the protruding portion 12 is gradually tapered toward the protruding tip 12a side so that the seal outer wall portion 13 side is thick and the protruding tip 12a side is thin.
- the seal outer wall portion 13 and the seal inner wall portion 14 are respectively attached to the upper surface (outer surface) 7a and the lower surface (inner surface) 7b of the panel upper edge portion 7 from the left end to the right end of the upper end edge of the panel body 6 when the seal is mounted.
