Abstract

본 발명은 모세관 이온 농도 분극 현상을 이용한 무전원 담수화 방법 및 무전원 담수화 구조물로서, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 무전원 담수화 방법은, (a) 이온에 대한 선택적 투과성을 가지는 다공성 구조물(20)과 담수화 타겟 유체(12)를 접촉시키는 단계, (b) 담수화 타겟 유체(12)의 선택적 투과성을 가지는 이온을 다공성 구조물(20) 내로 침염(imbibition)시켜 모세관 이온 농도 분극(Capillarity Ion Concentration Polarization, CICP)을 유발하는 단계를 포함하고, 선택적 투과성을 가지는 이온을 다공성 구조물(20) 내로 침염시키는 힘은 다공성 구조물(20)에 포함된 모세관의 모세관력에 의한 것임을 특징으로 한다.
