Description

エンジン装置
 本願発明は、エンジン装置に関し、特に、クランク軸を回転自在に軸支するシリンダブロックを備えたエンジン装置に関するものである。
 クランク軸を回転自在に軸支するシリンダブロックを備えたエンジン装置はよく知られている(例えば特許文献1を参照)。シリンダブロックは爆発力をクランク系に伝達させる媒体の1つであるとともに、クランク系の慣性荷重などを支えなければならない最も重要な強度メンバーのうちの1つである。さらに、シリンダブロックの構造は、エンジンの大きさ、重量、耐久性全般、騒音などにも大きな影響を及ぼすものである。

 従来、シリンダブロックの剛性を向上させる手法としては、シリンダブロックの肉厚を厚く構成する手法が主に取られている。しかし、シリンダブロックの肉厚を増加させても重量増加に対する剛性向上の割合が低いという問題があった。例えばトラクター等、エンジン装置が車体フレームの剛性メンバーとして使用される作業機では、このような問題は顕著になる。
 本願発明は、上記の課題を鑑みて、シリンダブロックの剛性を向上させることを目的とするものである。
 本願発明にかかるエンジン装置は、クランク軸を回転自在に軸支するシリンダブロックを備えたエンジン装置であって、クランク軸心方向に沿った前記シリンダブロックの両側部における前記クランク軸心方向での一端部に、前記クランク軸から離れる方向に突設された突出部と、前記突出部側が広がるようにして前記両側部の各側壁と前記突出部の間に設けられた補強リブが、前記シリンダブロックに一体成形されるものである。
 本願発明のエンジン装置において、例えば、前記シリンダブロックの内部に、カム軸を収容するカム軸ケース部が前記両側部のうち一方の側部寄りの位置に前記クランク軸心方向に沿って配置されるとともに、前記一方の側部において前記補強リブが側方視で前記カム軸ケース部の配置位置に近設配置されるようにしてもよい。
 さらに、前記補強リブが側方視で前記カム軸ケース部の配置位置と重なって配置される例を挙げることができる。
 また、前記補強リブは、前記一端部とは反対側の前記クランク軸心方向での他端部寄りの部位まで前記クランク軸心方向に沿って延設される例を挙げることができる。
 また、本願発明のエンジン装置において、例えば、前記突出部に補機が取り付けられるとともに、前記補強リブが前記補機の直下に配置されるようにしてもよい。
 また、本願発明のエンジン装置において、前記シリンダブロック内に形成される潤滑油通路のうち一部の潤滑油通路が前記シリンダブロック内で前記両側部のうち一側部寄りの位置に配置されるとともに、前記補強リブが側方視で前記一部の潤滑油通路の配置位置に近設配置されるようにしてもよい。
 さらに、例えば、前記補強リブ及び前記一部の潤滑油通路はクランク軸心方向に沿って延設されるようにしてもよい。
 また、前記補強リブが側方視で前記一部の潤滑油通路の配置位置と重なって配置される例を挙げることができる。
 また、前記一部の潤滑油通路が前記シリンダブロック内で前記一側部寄りの位置に配置される前記構成において、前記突出部に補機が取り付けられるとともに、前記補強リブが前記補機の直下に配置されるようにしてもよい。
 本願発明のエンジン装置は、クランク軸心方向に沿ったシリンダブロックの両側部におけるクランク軸心方向での一端部に、クランク軸から離れる方向に突設された突出部と、突出部側が広がるようにして両側部の各側壁と突出部の間に設けられた補強リブが、シリンダブロックに一体成形されているので、上記突出部によるシリンダブロックの剛性向上に加え、上記補強リブによりさらに剛性が向上されており、シリンダブロックの剛性を向上させることができ、ひいてはエンジン全体の剛性を向上できる。さらに、上記突出部及び上記補強リブによりシリンダブロックの表面積が増加され、放熱性が向上される。したがって、本願発明のエンジン装置は、シリンダブロックの冷却効率を向上させることができ、ひいてはエンジン全体の冷却効率を向上できる。
 また、本願発明のエンジン装置において、シリンダブロックの内部に、カム軸を収容するカム軸ケース部が両側部のうち一方の側部寄りの位置にクランク軸心方向に沿って配置されるとともに、上記一方の側部において補強リブが側方視でカム軸ケース部の配置位置に近設配置されるようにすれば、カム軸ケース部周辺の剛性を向上させることができ、カム軸ケース部の歪みを防止できるとともに、カム軸ケース部の歪みに起因するカム軸の回転不良を防止できる。
 さらに、補強リブが側方視でカム軸ケース部の配置位置と重なって配置されるようにすれば、補強リブによりカム軸ケース部周辺の剛性をより向上させることができ、カム軸ケース部の歪みを防止できる。
 また、補強リブは、クランク軸心方向での上記一端部とは反対側の他端部寄りの部位までクランク軸心方向に沿って延設されるようにすれば、カム軸ケース部に沿って補強リブを配置することができ、カム軸ケース部の配置位置全体にわたってカム軸ケース部の歪みを防止できる。
 また、本願発明のエンジン装置において、突出部に補機が取り付けられるとともに、補強リブが補機の直下に配置されるようにすれば、補強リブは補機の保護部材として機能し、補機への下方側からの異物の接触が補強リブにより防止され、異物の接触に起因する補機の損傷や汚れの付着を防止できる。
 また、本願発明のエンジン装置において、シリンダブロック内に形成される潤滑油通路のうち一部の潤滑油通路がシリンダブロック内で上記両側部のうち一側部寄りの位置に配置されるとともに、補強リブが側方視で一部の潤滑油通路の配置位置に近設配置されるようにすれば、補強リブにより上記一部の潤滑油通路の近傍での放熱性能を向上させることができ、上記一部の潤滑油通路内を通過する潤滑油を冷却でき、シリンダブロックの冷却効率向上、ひいてはエンジン全体の冷却効率向上を図ることができる。
 さらに、補強リブ及び上記一部の潤滑油通路はクランク軸心方向に沿って延設されるようにすれば、上記一部の潤滑油通路に沿って補強リブを配置することができ、上記一部の潤滑油通路内を通過する潤滑油をより効率よく冷却できる。
 また、補強リブが側方視で上記一部の潤滑油通路の配置位置と重なって配置されるようにすれば、補強リブを上記一部の潤滑油通路により近づけて配置することができ、上記一部の潤滑油通路の近傍での放熱性能をさらに向上させることができる。
 また、上記一部の潤滑油通路がシリンダブロック内で上記一側部寄りの位置に配置される上記構成において、突出部に補機が取り付けられるとともに、補強リブが補機の直下に配置されるようにすれば、補強リブは補機の保護部材として機能し、補機への下方側からの異物の接触が補強リブにより防止され、異物の接触に起因する補機の損傷や汚れの付着を防止できる。

 以下に、本発明を具体化した実施形態を図面に基づいて説明する。まず、図1~図8を参照しながら、ディーゼルエンジン(エンジン装置)1の全体構造について説明する。なお、以下の説明では、クランク軸5と平行な両側部(クランク軸5を挟んで両側の側部)を左右、フライホイールハウジング7設置側を前側、冷却ファン9設置側を後側と称して、これらを便宜的に、ディーゼルエンジン1における四方及び上下の位置関係の基準としている。
 図1~図8に示す如く、ディーゼルエンジン1におけるクランク軸5と平行な一側部に吸気マニホールド3を、他側部に排気マニホールド4を配置している。実施形態では、シリンダヘッド2の右側面に吸気マニホールド3がシリンダヘッド2と一体に成形されており、シリンダヘッド2の左側面に排気マニホールド4が設置されている。シリンダヘッド2は、クランク軸5とピストン(図示省略)が内蔵されたシリンダブロック6上に搭載されている。シリンダブロック6はクランク軸5を回転自在に軸支する。

 シリンダブロック6の下面にはオイルパン11を配置する。オイルパン11内には潤滑油が貯留されている。オイルパン11内の潤滑油は、シリンダブロック6のフライホイールハウジング7との連結部分であってシリンダブロック6の右側面側に配置されたオイルポンプ12(図11参照)にて吸引され、シリンダブロック6の右側面に配置されたオイルクーラ13並びにオイルフィルタ14を介して、ディーゼルエンジン1の各潤滑部に供給される。各潤滑部に供給された潤滑油は、その後オイルパン11に戻される。オイルポンプ12はクランク軸5の回転にて駆動するように構成されている。
 シリンダブロック6のフライホイールハウジング7との連結部分に、燃料を供給するための燃料供給ポンプ15が取り付けられ、燃料供給ポンプ15がEGR装置24下方に配置される。コモンレール16が、シリンダヘッド2の吸気マニホールド3下側でシリンダブロック6側面に固定されており、燃料供給ポンプ15上方に配置されている。ヘッドカバー18で覆われているシリンダヘッド2上面部に、電磁開閉制御型の燃料噴射バルブを有する4気筒分の各インジェクタ(図示省略)が設けられている。
 各インジェクタが、燃料供給ポンプ15及び円筒状のコモンレール16を介して、作業車両に搭載される燃料タンク(図示省略)が接続されている。燃料タンクの燃料が燃料供給ポンプ15からコモンレール16に圧送され、高圧の燃料がコモンレール16に蓄えられる。各インジェクタの燃料噴射バルブをそれぞれ開閉制御することによって、コモンレール16内の高圧の燃料が各インジェクタからディーゼルエンジン1の各気筒に噴射される。
 シリンダヘッド2上面部に設ける吸気弁及び排気弁(図示省略)などを覆うヘッドカバー18上面に、ディーゼルエンジン1の燃焼室などからシリンダヘッド2上面側に漏れ出たブローバイガスを取入れるブローバイガス還元装置19が設けられている。ブローバイガス還元装置19のブローバイガス出口が、還元ホース68を介して、二段過給機30の吸気部に連通される。ブローバイガス還元装置19内にて潤滑油成分が除去されたブローバイガスは、二段過給機30を介して、吸気マニホールド3に還元される。
 フライホイールハウジング7にエンジン始動用のスタータ20が取り付けられ、スタータ20が排気マニホールド4下方に配置される。スタータ20は、シリンダブロック6とフライホイールハウジング7との連結部下方となる位置で、フライホイールハウジング7に取り付けられる。
 シリンダブロック6の後面左寄りの部位には、冷却水循環用の冷却水ポンプ21が冷却ファン9の下方に配置されている。クランク軸5の回転にて、冷却ファン駆動用Vベルト10を介して、冷却ファン9と共に冷却水ポンプ21が駆動される。作業車両に搭載されるラジエータ(図示省略)内の冷却水が、冷却水ポンプ21の駆動にて、冷却水ポンプ21に供給される。そして、シリンダヘッド2及びシリンダブロック6に冷却水が供給され、ディーゼルエンジン1を冷却する。
 排気マニホールド4下方に配置されるとともにラジエータの冷却水出口と連通される冷却水入口管22が、シリンダブロック6の左側面であって冷却水ポンプ21と同一高さ位置に固設されている。一方、ラジエータの冷却水入口と連通される冷却水出口管23が、シリンダヘッド2の後部に固設されている。シリンダヘッド2は、吸気マニホールド3後方に突設させた冷却水排水部35を有しており、当該冷却水排水部35上面に冷却水出口管23が設置される。
 吸気マニホールド3の入口側は、後述するEGR装置24(排気ガス再循環装置)のコレクタ25を介してエアクリーナ(図示省略)に連結されている。エアクリーナに吸い込まれた新気(外部空気)は、当該エアクリーナにて除塵・浄化されたのち、コレクタ25を介して吸気マニホールド3に送られ、そして、ディーゼルエンジン1の各気筒に供給される。実施形態では、EGR装置24のコレクタ25が、シリンダヘッド2と一体成形されてシリンダヘッド2の右側面を構成している吸気マニホールド3の右側方に連結している。すなわち、シリンダヘッド2の右側面に設けられる吸気マニホールド3の入口開口部に、EGR装置24のコレクタ25の出口開口部が連結されている。なお、本実施形態では、後述するように、EGR装置24のコレクタ25は、インタークーラ(図示省略)及び二段過給機30を介して、エアクリーナに連結している。
 EGR装置24は、ディーゼルエンジン1の再循環排気ガス(排気マニホールド4からのEGRガス)と新気(エアクリーナからの外部空気)とを混合させて吸気マニホールド3に供給する中継管路としてのコレクタ25と、エアクリーナにコレクタ25を連通させる吸気スロットル部材26と、排気マニホールド4にEGRクーラ27を介して接続する還流管路の一部となる再循環排気ガス管28と、再循環排気ガス管28にコレクタ25を連通させるEGRバルブ部材29とを有している。
 EGR装置24は、シリンダヘッド2における吸気マニホールド3の右側方に配置されている。すなわち、EGR装置24は、シリンダヘッド2の右側面に固定され、シリンダヘッド2内の吸気マニホールド3と連通されている。EGR装置24は、コレクタ25がシリンダヘッド2右側面の吸気マニホールド3に連結するとともに、再循環排気ガス管28のEGRガス入口がシリンダヘッド2右側面の吸気マニホールド3前方部分と連結して固定される。また、コレクタ25の前後それぞれにEGRバルブ部材29及び吸気スロットル部材26が連結され、EGRバルブ部材29の後端に再循環排気ガス管28のEGRガス出口が連結される。
 EGRクーラ27は、シリンダヘッド2の前側面に固定されており、シリンダヘッド2内を流れる冷却水とEGRガスがEGRクーラ27に流出入し、EGRクーラ27においてEGRガスが冷却される。シリンダヘッド2の前側面は、その左右位置にEGRクーラ27を連結するEGRクーラ連結台座33,34を突設し、連結台座33,34にEGRクーラ27が連結されている。すなわち、EGRクーラ27は、EGRクーラ27後端面とシリンダヘッド2の前側面とが離間するようにして、フライホイールハウジング7上方位置であってシリンダヘッド2前方位置に配置されている。
 排気マニホールド4の側方(実施形態では左側方)に、二段過給機30が配置されている。二段過給機30は、高圧過給機51と低圧過給機52とを備える。高圧過給機51が、タービンホイール(図示省略)を内蔵した高圧タービン53とブロアホイール(図示省略)を内蔵した高圧コンプレッサ54とを有するとともに、低圧過給機52が、タービンホイール(図示省略)を内蔵した低圧タービン55とブロアホイール(図示省略)を内蔵した低圧コンプレッサ56とを有する。
 排気マニホールド4に高圧タービン53の排気ガス入口57を連結させ、高圧タービン53の排気ガス出口58に高圧排気ガス管59を介して低圧タービン55の排気ガス入口60を連結させ、低圧タービン55の排気ガス出口61に排気ガス排出管(図示省略)の排気ガス取入れ側端部を連結させている。一方、低圧コンプレッサ56の新気取入れ口(新気入口)63に給気管62を介してエアクリーナ(図示省略)の新気供給側(新気出口側)を接続し、低圧コンプレッサ56の新気供給口(新気出口)64に低圧新気通路管65を介して高圧コンプレッサ54の新気取入れ口66を連結させ、高圧コンプレッサ54の新気供給口67に高圧新気通路管(図示省略)を介してインタークーラ(図示省略)の新気取り込み側を接続させる。
 高圧過給機51が排気マニホールド4の排気ガス出口58に連結して、排気マニホールド4の左側方に固定される一方、低圧過給機52が高圧排気ガス管59及び低圧新気通路管65を介して高圧過給機51と連結して、排気マニホールド4の上方に固定される。すなわち、小径となる高圧過給機51と排気マニホールド4とが、大径となる低圧過給機52下方で左右に並設されることで、二段過給機30が排気マニホールド4の左側面及び上面を囲うように配置される。すなわち、排気マニホールド4と二段過給機30とが、背面視(正面視)で矩形状に配置されるようにして、シリンダヘッド2左側面にコンパクトに固定されている。
 次に、図9~図13を参照しながらシリンダブロック6の構成について説明する。シリンダブロック6には、クランク軸5のクランク軸心300方向に沿った左側面301及び右側面302における前側面303側の端部に、フライホイールハウジング7が複数のボルトにより固設される左側ハウジングブラケット部304及び右側ハウジングブラケット部305(突出部)が成形されている。左側面301の側壁と左側ハウジングブラケット部304の間に、上方側(トップデッキ部側)か下方側(オイルパンレール部側)に向かって順に、左側第1補強リブ306、左側第2補強リブ307、左側第3補強リブ308、左側第4補強リブ309が成形されている。また、右側面302の側壁と右側ハウジングブラケット部305の間に、上方側から下方側に向かって順に、右側第1補強リブ310、右側第2補強リブ311が成形されている。ハウジングブラケット部304,305及び補強リブ306~311はシリンダブロック6に一体成形されたものである。
 補強リブ306~311は、それぞれ、クランク軸心300方向に沿って延設されるとともに、平面視でハウジングブラケット部304,305が広い略三角形状を有する。また、左側の補強リブ307,308,309及び右側第2補強リブ311は、略三角形状部分からシリンダブロック6の後側面312側に延設された直線状部分307a,308a,309a,311aを有する(図7及び図8も参照)。補強リブ306,307,308はシリンダブロック6のシリンダ部に配置されている。補強リブ309,310,311はシリンダブロック6のスカート部に配置されている。
 左側面301及び右側面302には、エンジン1と車体を連結するエンジンマウントを取り付けるためのマウント取付座317がそれぞれ前後方向に2つずつオイルパンレール部寄りの部位に突設されている。左側第4補強リブ309は左側面301に突設された2つのマウント取付座317に連結されている。右側第2補強リブ311は右側面302に突設された2つのマウント取付座317に連結されている。なお、図2に示すように、シリンダブロック6の後側面312に、クランクケース部の内部がエンジン1の外部に露出しないようにクランク軸5の周囲を覆うクランクケース部カバー部材326がボルトにより固着されている。クランクケース部カバー部材326の下面にはオイルパン11がボルト締結される。
 シリンダブロック6に一体成形されたハウジングブラケット部304,305及び補強リブ306~311は、シリンダブロック6の剛性、特にシリンダブロック6の前側面303近傍の剛性及び強度を向上させており、ひいてはエンジン1の振動騒音を低減できる。さらに、ハウジングブラケット部304,305及び補強リブ306~311はシリンダブロック6の表面積を増加させているので、シリンダブロック6の冷却効率、ひいてはエンジン1の冷却効率を高めることができる。
 また、シリンダブロック6の左側面301における後側面312寄りの部位に、冷却水ポンプ21(図2等参照)が取り付けられる冷却水ポンプ取付部319と、冷却水入口管22(図3等参照)が取り付けられる入口管取付座320が突設されている。入口管取付座320の後側面312側の部位は冷却水ポンプ取付部319に連結されている。冷却水ポンプ取付部319及び入口管取付座320は、クランク軸5から離れる方向に突設されており、シリンダブロック6の剛性、強度及び冷却効率の向上に寄与する。
 シリンダブロック6の内部に、カム軸313を収容するカム軸ケース部314(図13参照)が形成されている。詳細は省略するが、シリンダブロック6の前側面303には、クランク軸5に固定されたクランクギヤ331と、カム軸313に固定されたカムギヤ332が配置され、クランクギヤ331に連動してカムギヤ332及びカム軸313を回転させ、カム軸313に関連させた動弁機構(図示省略)を駆動させることによって、エンジン1の吸気弁や排気弁(図示省略)が開閉作動するように構成されている。この実施形態のエンジン1は、いわゆるオーバーヘッドバルブの動弁系を有する。
 カム軸ケース部314は、シリンダブロック6のシリンダ部における左側面301寄りの位置に配置されている。カム軸313及びカム軸ケース部314はクランク軸心300方向に沿って配置されている。また、シリンダブロック6の左側面301に成形された左側第2補強リブ307及び左側第3補強リブ308の略三角形状部分及び直線状部分307a,308aは、側方視でカム軸ケース部314の配置位置に近設配置され、より具体的にはカム軸ケース部314の配置位置と重なる位置に配置されている。
 この実施形態は、左側第2補強リブ307及び左側第3補強リブ308によってカム軸ケース部314周辺の剛性が向上されているので、カム軸ケース部314の歪みを防止できる。これにより、カム軸ケース部314の歪みに起因するカム軸313の回転抵抗や回転摩擦の変動を防止でき、カム軸313を適切に回転させて吸気弁や排気弁(図示省略)の適切な開閉作動を行える。
 また、シリンダブロック6内に形成される潤滑油通路のうち一部の潤滑油通路、ここでは潤滑油吸入通路315と潤滑油供給通路316がシリンダブロック6のスカート部における右側面302寄りの位置に配置されている。潤滑油供給通路316はシリンダブロック6のスカート部においてシリンダ部寄りの位置に配置されている。潤滑油吸入通路315は潤滑油供給通路316に対してオイルパンレール部寄りの位置に配置されている。
 潤滑油吸入通路315の一端はシリンダブロック6のオイルパンレール部下面(オイルパン11に対向する面)に開口され、オイルパン11内に配置される潤滑油吸入管(図示省略)に接続される。潤滑油吸入通路315の他端はシリンダブロック6の前側面303に開口され、前側面303に固設されるオイルポンプ12(図11参照)の吸入口に接続される。潤滑油供給通路316の一端はシリンダブロック6の前側面303に潤滑油吸入通路315の開口とは異なる位置で開口され、オイルポンプ12の吐出口に接続される。潤滑油供給通路316の他端はシリンダブロック6の右側面302に突設されたオイルクーラ取付座318に開口され、オイルクーラ取付座318に配置されるオイルクーラ13(図4等参照)の吸入口に接続される。なお、シリンダブロック6内には潤滑油吸入通路315と潤滑油供給通路316以外にも潤滑油通路が形成されている。
 シリンダブロック6の右側面302において、右側第1補強リブ310は、側方視で潤滑油供給通路316の配置位置に近設配置され、より具体的には側方視で潤滑油供給通路316の配置位置と重なって配置されている。また、右側第2補強リブ311は、側方視で潤滑油吸入通路315の配置位置に近設配置されている。補強リブ310,311及び通路315,316はそれぞれクランク軸心300方向に沿って延設されている。
 この実施形態は、右側ハウジングブラケット部305、右側第1補強リブ310及び右側第2補強リブ111により、潤滑油吸入通路315、オイルポンプ12及び潤滑油供給通路316の近傍の冷却効率を高めることができる。特に、側方視で潤滑油供給通路316に重なる位置に配置された右側第1補強リブ310は、潤滑油供給通路316近傍の熱を効率的に外部へ放散する。これにより、オイルクーラ13に流入する潤滑油温度を低減でき、オイルクーラ13で必要とされる熱交換量を低減できる。
 次に、図10~図16を参照しながら、エンジン1のギヤトレイン構造について説明する。シリンダブロック6の前側面303とハウジングブラケット部304,305とフライホイールハウジング7で囲まれる空間内にギヤケース330が形成されている。図12及び図14に示すように、クランク軸5及びカム軸313の各前先端部は、それぞれシリンダブロック6の前側面303から突出して配置されている。クランク軸5の前先端部にクランクギヤ331が固着されている。カム軸313の前先端部にカムギヤ332が固着されている。カムギヤ332におけるフライホイールハウジング7側の側面には、ドーナツ盤状のカム軸用パルサ339が、カムギヤ332と一体回転するようにボルト締結されている。
 図12、図13及び図16に示すように、シリンダブロック6の右側ハウジングブラケット部305に設けられた燃料供給ポンプ15は、クランク軸5の回転軸心と平行状に延びる回転軸としての燃料供給ポンプ軸333を備えている。燃料供給ポンプ軸333の前端側は、右側ハウジングブラケット部305の前側面305aから突出して配置されている。燃料供給ポンプ軸333の前先端部に燃料供給ポンプギヤ334が固着されている。図13に示すように、シリンダブロック6の右側ハウジングブラケット部305は、右側第1補強リブ310よりも上方側の部位に燃料供給ポンプ15を配置するための燃料供給ポンプ取付座323を有する。燃料供給ポンプ取付座323には、燃料供給ポンプギヤ334を通過可能な大きさの燃料供給ポンプ軸挿入孔324が形成されている。
 図11及び図12に示すように、燃料供給ポンプギヤ334の下方側で右側ハウジングブラケット部305の前側面305aに配置されるオイルポンプ12は、クランク軸5の回転軸心と平行状に延びる回転軸としてのオイルポンプ軸335を備えている。オイルポンプ軸335の前先端部にオイルポンプギヤ336が固着されている。
 シリンダブロック6の前側面303のうちクランク軸5、カム軸313、燃料供給ポンプ軸333及びオイルポンプ軸335で囲まれた部位には、クランク軸5の回転軸心と平行状に延びるアイドル軸337が設けられている。アイドル軸337はシリンダブロック6の前側面303に固定されている。アイドル軸337には、アイドルギヤ338が回転可能に軸支されている。
 アイドルギヤ338は、クランクギヤ331、カムギヤ332、燃料供給ポンプギヤ334及びオイルポンプギヤ336の4つに噛み合っている。クランク軸5の回転動力は、クランクギヤ331からアイドルギヤ338を介してカムギヤ332、燃料供給ポンプギヤ334及びオイルポンプギヤ336の3つに伝達される。このため、カム軸313、燃料供給ポンプ軸333及びオイルポンプ軸335は、クランク軸5に連動して回転することになる。実施形態では、クランク軸5の2回転に対してカム軸313が1回転し、クランク軸5の1回転に対して燃料供給ポンプ軸333及びオイルポンプ軸335が1回転するように、各ギヤ331,332,334,336,338間のギヤ比が設定されている。
 この場合、クランク軸5と共に回転するクランクギヤ331に連動してカムギヤ332及びカム軸313を回転させ、カム軸313に関連して設けられた動弁機構(図示省略)を駆動させることによって、シリンダヘッド2内に設けられた吸気弁や排気弁(図示省略)が開閉作動するように構成されている。また、クランクギヤ331に連動して燃料供給ポンプギヤ334及び燃料供給ポンプ軸333を回転させ、燃料供給ポンプ15を駆動させることによって、燃料タンク118の燃料をコモンレール120に圧送して、高圧の燃料をコモンレール120に蓄えるように構成されている。また、クランクギヤ331に連動してオイルポンプギヤ336及びオイルポンプ軸335を回転させ、オイルポンプ12を駆動させることによって、オイルパン11内の潤滑油を潤滑油吸入通路315、潤滑油供給通路316、オイルクーラ13及びオイルフィルタ14等を含む潤滑系回路(詳細は省略)を介して各摺動部品等に供給するように構成されている。
 図16に示すように、クランク軸5の回転に連動して作動する補機としての燃料供給ポンプ15は右側ハウジングブラケット部305の燃料供給ポンプ取付座323にボルトにより固着されている。燃料供給ポンプ取付座323に右側第1補強リブ310が近接配置されている。また、燃料供給ポンプ15の直下に右側第1補強リブ310が配置され、右側第1補強リブ310の直下に右側第2補強リブ311が配置されている。補強リブ310,311は、燃料供給ポンプ取付座323の剛性を向上させるとともに、燃料供給ポンプ15への下方側からの泥水や跳石などの異物の接触を防止して、燃料供給ポンプ15を保護することができる。
 次に、図10~図12、図14及び図15を参照しながら、ギヤトレインを収容するギヤケース330について説明する。シリンダブロック6及び左右のハウジングブラケット部304,305の前側面303,304a,305aを含む領域の周縁に沿って、前側面303,304a,305aの周縁部にフライホイールハウジング7と接合されるブロック側凸条部321が立設されている。ブロック側凸条部321は、シリンダブロック6の左右のオイルパンレール部の間の部分に切欠き部321aが形成されている。側方視でブロック側凸条部321の端面と前側面303,304a,305aの間の空間はブロック側ギヤケース部322を形成する。
 図14及び図15に示すように、例えば鋳鉄製のフライホイールハウジング7はフライホイール8を収容するフライホイール収容部401を有する。フライホイール収容部401は、フライホイール8の外周側を覆う略円筒形状の周囲壁面部402と後側面側(シリンダブロック6側の面)を覆う後側壁面部403が連結されてなる有底円筒形状を有し、周囲壁面部402及び後側壁面部403で囲まれる空間にフライホイール8を収容する。周囲壁面部402は後側壁面部403側ほど半径が小さくなる略円錐台状に形成されている。後側壁面部403の中央部に、クランク軸5が挿入されるクランク軸挿入孔404が形成されている。
 後側壁面部403に、シリンダブロック6のブロック側凸条部321の形状に応じた環状のフランジ側凸条部405がクランク軸挿入孔404配置位置を囲うようにして連結されている。フランジ側凸条部405の中央部はクランク軸挿入孔404に対して上方側へずれた位置に配置されている。フランジ側凸条部405の下方部位は左右方向に延設されるとともにクランク軸挿入孔404に近設して後側壁面部403に連結される。
 また、フランジ側凸条部405の上方部位及び左右部位は後側壁面部403の外側に配置されている。後側壁面部403の外側に位置するフランジ側凸条部405の前側部位と周囲壁面部402の前側部位は外壁部406で連結される。外壁部406は、クランク軸5から離れる方向に凸状の湾曲傾斜形状を有している。フライホイールハウジング7において、フライホイール収容部401の下方部位はフランジ側凸条部405に対してクランク軸5から離れる方向へ突出配置されている。
 側方視で後側壁面部403とフランジ側凸条部405の端面の間の空間はフランジ側ギヤケース部407を形成する。フランジ側ギヤケース部407と前述のブロック側ギヤケース部322によりギヤケース330が形成される。
 フライホイールハウジング7の内部で、フライホイール収容部401の周囲壁面部402の外壁と外壁部406の内壁の間に肉抜き空間408が形成されている。肉抜き空間408内に、周囲壁面部402と外壁部406を連結する複数のリブ409が配置されている。また、フライホイールハウジング7には、フランジ側凸条部405の外側で周囲壁面部402及びフランジ側凸条部405に連結され、フランジ側凸条部405と面一なスタータ取付座410を有するスタータ取付部411が形成されている。スタータ取付部411には、周囲壁面部402の内壁とスタータ取付座410の間を貫通する貫通孔412が形成されている。フライホイールハウジング7は、シリンダブロック6のブロック側凸条部321の13箇所のボルト孔351及び前側面303の2箇所のハウジング用ボルトボス部352の各ボルト孔353にシリンダブロック6の前側面303側にボルト締結される。
 図10、図12、図13及び図17に示すように、シリンダブロック6の左側ハウジングブラケット部304は、その周縁部がフライホイールハウジング7の周縁部に対して凹状に形成された凹状部325を有する。シリンダブロック6にフライホイールハウジング7が固設された状態で凹状部325の下方に露出するフライホイールハウジング7のスタータ取付座410に、スタータ20が配置される。図14に示すように、フライホイール8の外周側には、スタータ20用の環状のリングギヤ501と、クランク軸用パルサ502がフライホイール8の厚み方向に沿って互いに逆側から嵌め込み固定されている。スタータ20は、貫通孔412内に配置されるとともにリングギヤ501に離脱可能に噛み合うピニオンギヤを有している。
 スタータ取付座410の周辺において、左側ハウジングブラケット部304の前側面304aの周縁部に立設されたブロック側凸条部321(図12及び図14参照)に鋳鉄製のフライホイールハウジング7がボルト締結されている。さらに、シリンダブロック6では、スタータ取付座410に近接される左側ハウジングブラケット部304の凹状部325の近傍に、左側ハウジングブラケット部304と左側面301を連結する左側第4補強リブ309が配置されている。これにより、スタータ取付座410周辺の剛性が向上されている。また、左側ハウジングブラケット部304の凹状部325及び前側面303で凹状部325に連続してスタータ取付座410近傍に設けられたブロック側凸条部321(図12参照)も、スタータ取付座410周辺の剛性を向上している。
 この実施形態では、左側第4補強リブ309等による剛性の高い部分にスタータ20を取付け可能になるので、スタータ取付座410や左側ハウジングブラケット部304の歪みによるスタータ20の位置ずれや変形を防止でき、スタータ20の故障や、スタータ20のピニオンギヤとフライホイール8のリングギヤの噛み合わせ不良を防止できる。
 また、図18及び図19に示すように、シリンダブロック6の左側ハウジングブラケット部304の外部補機取付座327に、クランク軸5の回転に連動して作動する外部補機328が配置される。外部補機328は、例えば、エンジン1が搭載される作業機で使用される作業機側ポンプであり、カムギヤ332(図12参照)に噛み合わされてクランク軸5の回転に連動する補機ギヤ(図示省略)の回転により作動する。外部補機取付座327の近傍に、左側第3補強リブ308及び左側第4補強リブ309が配置されている。補強リブ308,309は、外部補機取付座327の剛性を向上させているので、外部補機取付座327の歪みに起因する外部補機328の位置ずれや動作不良を防止できる。
 なお、本願発明における各部の構成は図示の実施形態に限定されるものではなく、本願発明の趣旨を逸脱しない範囲で種々変更が可能である。

Claims (9)

  1.  クランク軸を回転自在に軸支するシリンダブロックを備えたエンジン装置であって、
     クランク軸心方向に沿った前記シリンダブロックの両側部における前記クランク軸心方向での一端部に、前記クランク軸から離れる方向に突設された突出部と、前記突出部側が広がるようにして前記両側部の各側壁と前記突出部の間に設けられた補強リブが、前記シリンダブロックに一体成形されるエンジン装置。
  2.  前記シリンダブロックの内部に、カム軸を収容するカム軸ケース部が前記両側部のうち一方の側部寄りの位置に前記クランク軸心方向に沿って配置されるとともに、前記一方の側部において前記補強リブが側方視で前記カム軸ケース部の配置位置に近設配置される請求項1に記載のエンジン装置。
  3.  前記補強リブが側方視で前記カム軸ケース部の配置位置と重なって配置される請求項2に記載のエンジン装置。
  4.  前記補強リブは、前記一端部とは反対側の前記クランク軸心方向での他端部寄りの部位まで前記クランク軸心方向に沿って延設される請求項2に記載のエンジン装置。
  5.  前記突出部に補機が取り付けられるとともに、前記補強リブが前記補機の直下に配置される請求項1に記載のエンジン装置。
  6.  前記シリンダブロック内に形成される潤滑油通路のうち一部の潤滑油通路が前記シリンダブロック内で前記両側部のうち一側部寄りの位置に配置されるとともに、前記補強リブが側方視で前記一部の潤滑油通路の配置位置に近設配置される請求項1に記載のエンジン装置。
  7.  前記補強リブ及び前記一部の潤滑油通路は前記クランク軸心方向に沿って延設される請求項6に記載のエンジン装置。
  8.  前記補強リブが側方視で前記一部の潤滑油通路の配置位置と重なって配置される請求項6に記載のエンジン装置。
  9.  前記突出部に補機が取り付けられるとともに、前記補強リブが前記補機の直下に配置される請求項6に記載のエンジン装置。
