- the foamed material may have buoyant characteristics when delivered into the compartment with a rising water level.
- the foamable material may comprise a one component material or a two component material for instant a polymer or other constitutions where the material is capable of foaming and curing into a foam material with the
- the actuation device By positioning the actuation device in the compartment of the vessel or a plane corresponding to a preset water level in the compartment, it is ensured that the actuation device releases the foaming material into the compartment when the water is rising and reaches the preset level independent on the location of the possible hull fracture or the reasons for the elevated water level.
- the rising water could be caused by a leak in the compartment or in a neighbouring compartment, given that there is access between the compartments, or the water could be rising due to internal leak from some equipment in the boat.
- the release of curable foaming material would add to the total buoyancy of the vessel or the plane.
