Abstract

Composiciones farmacéuticas que contienen en calidad de principio activo, un derivado del ácido 4-oxo-butanoico de formula (I) en la que los grupos A yB se eligen independientemente entre un grupo de arilo mono, bi o tricíclico, de 6 a 14 átomosde carbono; un grupo heteroaromático elegido entre los gruposde piridilo, pirimidilo, pirrolilo, furilo y tienilo; un grupo alquilo de 1 a 14 átomos de carbono; un grupo de cicloalquilo de 5 a 8 átomos de carbono; ungrupo heterocíclico saturado, elegido entre los grupos de tetra-hidrofurilo, tetrahidropiranilo, piperidinilo y pirrolidinilo; su solvato o una sal de esteácido con una base aceptable desde el punto de vista farmacéutico. Se utilizan para el tratamiento de diabetes especialmente de la diabetes no insulinadependiente, a causa de su efecto hipogliceminante y la ausencia de toxicidad cuando se adminstran dosis activas.
