Abstract

Construccion que comprende los siguientes componentes en la direccion 5 a 3 de transcripcion: a) un promotor funcional en un plasto de planta; b) unasecuencia de ADN que codifica un péptido derivado de un organismo eucariotico; y c) una region de terminacion de transcripcion; en donde dicho péptidoeucariotico no es un péptido de un plasto de planta. La secuencia b) codifica para unpéptido nuclear de planta, un péptido antifungal o un péptido de mamíferodonde dicho péptido de mamífero es una proteína seleccionada entre el grupo que consiste en interferones, anticuerpos monoclonales, hormonas, agentehematopoyético, proteína de coagulacion no enzimática o inhibidor de proteinasa. Otros elementos incluyen un marcador seleccionable para la seleccion decélulas de plantas que comprenden un plasto que expresa el marcador y regiones de ADN de homología al genoma del plasto, y opcionalmente un sitio de enlaceribosomático unido al promotor. Métodos para expresar péptidos derivados de organismoseucarioticos en plastos de plantas. Con los métodos que utilizan dichasconstrucciones se producen altos niveles de péptidos eucarioticos, tales como proteínas mamíferas, en una célula de planta desarrollando células de plantasbajo condiciones por lascuales las secuencias codificadoras de ADN son expresadas para producir péptido eucariotico en dicho plasto. Método para producir unaproteína en una célula de planta mediante transformacion de dicha construccion.
