Method and device for reducing fluid friction in submersible motors.

It is known that submersible motors, in which only the live part is protected and the outer liquid fills the inside of the motor, have a sharply decreasing efficiency with increasing rotor diameter, which is caused by the fluid friction of the rotor, whereby the protective measures for the stator and the winding suffer from the rapidly rotating fluid.

In order to remedy this deficiency, according to the invention, in such a motor, the liquid is pressed out of the motor by means of supplied compressed gas (compressed air) as required, so that the rotor outside the liquid is in a gas or gas-filled position air-filled space can run.

It has already been proposed to protect the otherwise unprotected motor against the ingress of liquid by means of compressed air. However, these motors require very complicated devices for maintaining a certain overpressure in the motor interior, and measures must be taken to replace the escaping gas.

It has also been suggested to place a gas leak in the path of such engines

Drawing a shows an underwater submersible motor with waterproof encapsulated coils according to patent no. 118976. All other types of submersible motors in which the motor may be filled with the liquid are also possible. In motors of this type, the fluid does not have a hindering effect at standstill, but when running there is always considerable fluid friction losses, and the like. between the larger the radius of the rotor, the greater the friction and consequently also the efficiency losses. These losses are immediately noticeable through increasing power consumption.

In such cases, the gas (air) is pumped in and thereby the liquid is displaced from the inside of the motor so far that the rotor only runs in the gas (air) -filled space, which eliminates the liquid friction losses and increases the efficiency. Since the liquid in and of itself is not harmful to the motor, the air only needs to be supplied or removed in a simple manner when necessary. to be pumped in while running without the need for complicated compressors or other systems.

The motor housing 4 or the bearings 12 are provided with a device for supplying the compressed gas. Preferably, the same can be made from a pipe 5, a hose, etc. reaching above the water level or above ground. exist, which opens into the interior of the motor, with which it is connected to the backlash flap 6 through an opening. The interior of the motor is filled through the pipe with compressed gas by means of a pump or in some other way, in such a way that the liquid is pushed out at least until the rotor outside the liquid is only surrounded by the gas (the air). In this condition the motor works like in a diving bell.

If compressed gas (compressed air) is used up and the power consumption increases because the liquid has come up into the area of the rotor, new compressed air is pumped in until the liquid is displaced from the inside of the motor in such a way that the rotor only works in the compressed air, i.e. . H. until the friction losses are eliminated. The liquid can be forced out either through the gap between the shaft 10 and the bush 11

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A method for reducing the fluid friction in submersible motors, in which the penetration of the external fluid into the motor interior is permitted, characterized in that the external fluid that has penetrated into the motor interior is forced out by filling the motor interior with compressed gas (air) during operation, so that the rotor can run in a fluid-free space, making it difficult for the external fluid to penetrate back.
