leichten reduzierbaren Oxyde verwandelt.

Process to increase the reducibility of Spateisenstein by means of oxidizing roasting.

Various ores, especially the spade iron stones, have the disadvantage compared to other ore types that they are more difficult to reduce in the blast furnace. This is partly due to the fact that the spate contain oxydules, which are much more difficult to reduce by carbon dioxide than the oxides. Furthermore, the roasted spades, which usually disintegrate during roasting, are so tricky due to their smooth crystal surfaces that the individual rust crystals pass through the furnace charge extremely quickly and are thus almost unaffected by the countercurrent carbon dioxide gases and get in front of the tunnels and the iron bath without reducing them this is partially decarburized again, making it more difficult to produce cooked iron types and consequently increasing the consumption of coke.

There is therefore great interest in increasing the reducibility of the said material in order to reduce this disadvantage.

This is achieved by the invention described below, by means of which the abuses mentioned are eliminated in a simple manner.

transformed into easily reducible oxides. In order to make this method worthwhile even with poorer spades, it is advisable to enrich the material by eliminating the gaits (silicates, etc.), which can be done through special processing methods.

The present method can thus be described as a transfer of the briquetting method known for Magneteisenstein to Spateisenstein. So far it has been

The present invention, which is based on the finding that Spateisenstein, treated in the manner described above, delivers through and through sintered briquettes, is of great importance because the Spateisenstein treated in the manner described, when fused, supply pig iron with a high manganese content, such as it could not be produced without the addition of manganese-containing ores, which were previously mostly purchased from abroad.

It is already known to convert the Spatoiscnstein into higher oxidation levels by roasting with access to air, and a process is also described in French patent specification No. 362145 by which the trickling of the roasted spar is avoided, but the end product of this process does not have the property to be more easily reducible. like the starting material, but as a result of the complete sintering, as it naturally involves the formation of nodules, is the reducibility of the
