Process for the production of coke,
The subject of the present invention is a method for extinguishing coke. The purpose of the invention is to embed those aggregates that are necessary for the subsequent use of the coke, for example in the blast furnace process, for the production of nitrogen in an extremely fine distribution in the coke. As such substances, the chlorides of the alkalis or alkaline earths, in particular the water-binding salts, come into consideration in a known manner.
It is extremely difficult to impregnate finished coke with such a material, because finished coke is not the same as salt solutions.
EMI1.1
Meaning that the water content required for the ammonia buildup comes from the bound salts to those blast furnace zones in which, according to the temperature, nitrogen is released. The chlorides are of particular advantage in this respect because the hydrochloric acid released combines with the ammonia to form chlorammonium, which can be obtained directly from the gases by washing. In addition, the chlorine ion prevents the decomposition of the chlorammonium even at higher temperatures, so that a significantly increased nitrogen yield is achieved.
The form of the nitrogen yield as chlorammonium produces the sulfuric acid that is otherwise used to bind ammonia.
EMI1.2
with the langen the effect is that the coke pushed out of the coke ovens or gas rotors in a glowing state is not extinguished with water as before, but with aqueous solutions of the desired salts.
The hot coke eagerly absorbs the lye up to 350/0 of its weight and
EMI1.3
constant cooling still 8 / n water. The dissolved constituents remain in the coke in an even higher percentage.
A particular advantage is that alkalis of such salts are very cheap to have as annoying waste eyes and can thus be introduced into the subsequent processes in a concentrated manner free of charge. The aggregates, especially the finely divided lime, are very valuable for the blast furnace process and are taken into account in the fuel calculation.
