 EMI1.1

 EMI1.1

The invention relates to a method for producing imitations of fur, velvet, plush and the like. The novelty is that layers of fibers or threads in the same direction are stacked tightly on top of one another and frozen in a liquid, whereupon the block formed in this way transversely to the fiber direction in sheets is dismantled and the fibers are exposed on one side of the plate by melting, which are then united with one another by gluing on any substrate and finally freed of the remaining ice by melting.

This method has the advantage over the previously known methods of this type that the fibers or threads do not need to be fixed in parallel rows between plates. In addition to a significant saving in labor, this has the further advantage that the imitation fur has a natural appearance, while velvet and plush can be produced with a very dense layer of thread.

The production of imitations of fur etc. according to the invention takes place in the following way:
First of all, parallel fibers or threads of any color or nature and in any combination are arranged in more or less narrow layers. These fiber or thread layers are made by any known method, e.g. B. brought by carding, combing, brushing, etc. in parallel position to each other and fixed on each other.

This thread mass of any thickness and length is then mixed with water

arises. This block of ice, which surrounds the threads, is then sawn into pieces of dimensions corresponding to the product to be manufactured, namely perpendicular to the general. respect of the threads or at an angle to this. Then the ice is melted a little on one side, so that a small part of the fibers is exposed.

The exposed fiber ends are then firmly connected to any type of substrate, such as silk, canvas, cotton or Xesseigcwebe, etc., by means of an adhesive, as rubber, caoutchouc solutions, etc. The ice, which envelops the remaining part of the fibers, is then melted down, the product is dried and is then ready to go through all finishing processes. The fibers or threads can also be firmly connected with expandable minerals in order to produce a fabric which has a larger surface area than the first surface of the material attached to it.
