   Durch das Stammpatent Nr. 49084 ist ein Isolator für   Hochspannungaleitungen   bekannt geworden, der im mittleren Teile von einem gegen Witterungseinflüsse un-   empfindlichen   Mantel aus Bernstein, Glas, Porzellan oder ähnlichem Materiale umgeben ist. Während dieser Schutzmantel nach dem Stammpatente jedoch nur einen Teil des aus Hartgummi bestehenden Isolationskörpers umgibt, ist gemäss vorliegender Erfindung dieser Schutzmantel, der zweckmässig unter Zwischenschaltung einer isolierenden   AusfUllmasse   auf dem Isolationskörper dicht aufgebracht ist, derart verlängert, dass er sich über die ganze freie Oberfläche des Isolationskörpers bis an die Endkappen heran erstreckt.

   Zwischen den Enden des Mantels und den Endkappen sind hiebei zwecks Herstellung eines dichten Abschlusses zweckmässig Dichtungen angeordnet. 



     Da der Isolationskörper   bei dieser Anordnungsweise des Schutzmantels nach aussen hin vollkommen abgeschlossen ist, so ist er bei erhöhter Oberflächenisolation in allen seinen Teilen vor schädlichen Witterungseinflüssen geschützt. 



   Eine beispielsweise Ausführungsform eines gemäss der Erfindung ausgebildeten Isolators ist auf der Zeichnung im Längsschnitt dargestellt,
An dem stabförmigen Hartgummikern 2 greifen beiderseits die Zugorgane an. Dies kann, wie dargestellt, dadurch geschehen, dass die   Befestigungsösen   6 und 7 für die Zugmittel vermittelst der in der Hartgummimasse eingeschraubten oder eingebetteten Bolzen   8,   9 am Isolator befestigt werden. Durch mit den Ösen lösbar oder fest verbundenen Kappen 4,5 werden die Enden des Hartgummistabes fest eingeschlossen und nach aussen hin abgeschlossen.
