telescope choose a different telescope, aow & te a separate arrangement of directional and observation telescopes and a special connector are required. The omission of such a connecting piece means that the sighting device forming the subject of the invention has a particularly compact design.

The direct rigid connection of the directional and observation telescopes also has the further advantage that the parallelism of the two lines of sight, which can easily be achieved when the two telescopes are arranged separately, e.g. B. can be lost due to wear and tear of the fitting surfaces present at the connection point, is secured to a high degree.

In addition, the use of a panoramic telescope gives the advantage that the sight lines of the directional telescope and the observation telescope, although the two eyepieces are arranged at very different heights, are approximately at the same height, which is particularly advantageous as the visor seat of the protective shield is otherwise identical Circumstances can be kept smaller.

Furthermore, the panoramic telescope is the only telescope that is unlikely, i.e. H. without changing its optical device, can be arranged on the sight carrier in such a way that the eyepiece assumes the position transverse to the elevation plane, which enables a comfortable view at every elevation.

These advantages give an equipped with the sighting device described
Guns the property of a special purpose-built anti-airship gun.

As a result of the training of the directional telescope. As a panoramic telescope, such a gun is also a field gun that can be used for all types of aiming. When used as a field gun, the observation telescope is of course unused.

The usefulness of the sighting device when shooting at airships is not adversely affected by the fact that when the rector prism is adjusted in the height direction

when bombarding field targets where, as mentioned above, the observation telescope remains unused. For this reason, it is also harmless to rigidly connect the housing of the observation telescope to the housing part C2 of the panoramic telescope. Of course, the housing of the observation telescope could also be rigidly connected to the housing parts of the panorama telescope which contain the reflector prism c and are rotatable about the horizontal axis. The former arrangement, however, deserves preference because it results in a simpler and more compact design.
