Rohren von beliebigem Durchmesser mit Vorteil verwnden zu können, wird dieselbe aus einer Anzahl mit ihren Grundflächen unter Belassung von Zwischenräumen nebeneinanderliegenden Pyramiden oder Kegeln, gegebenenfalls abgestuften Pyramiden oder Kegeln oder ähnlichen sich verjüngenden Körpern, welche in bekannter Weise durch ein nahe ihrer Basis eingebettetes Drahtgitter zusammengehalten werden, hergestellt. Um hiebei das Verbrennen des Drahtgitters zu verhüten, wird dasselbe vorher mit einer feuerbeständigen Masse überzogen.
Durch die vielen kleinen sich verjüngenden Körper ist eine möglichst kleine Auf- lagefitiche auf dem zu isolierenden Gcgonstand gegeben, weiters worden verhäiltnismnssig grosse Luftzwischenräume erreicht.
